If you've already got people bringing in crayfish from Florida, my main concern would be people releasing snakes that used to be pets. People started doing that with Pythons in Florida and now they have taken over. It sounds wonderful as it is right now. I hope it stays that way. I hope the manager keeps an eye out for any snakes being released there. Thanks for the video

I don't think you should disclose the location for lots of reasons but mainly because people are horrible these days & you never know what they'll do. Great video as always. Thank you 😊

yes, sometimes people are difficult..but i will not give up the hope that 95 % of them will react reasonable. In the area this creek is known and plenty of hobbists will go there anyway.

In the US there's a lot of invasives in the southern portion but in the northern part near Canada (where I'm at) the only thing that survives are goldfish and they grow massive, like 50cm massive.

Wow this is incredible, I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it! I'd love to visit this place, it's beautiful and some of the mollies look unique and pretty amazing, they'd be good for breeding projects. Yeah those crayfish are bad news, I think we have a problem with them in the UK wiping out our own native species, at least they're good to eat so that's one way of reducing their numbers. Awesome video Chris, thanks!

Not such a big leak, the site was already reported in the scientific literature several years ago , and there are so many videos about it that is very easy to find if you do a tiny bit of research. Moreover, a paper is going to come out in the next months including that place and other around Europe, as I have been tracking the expansion of Neocaridina from thermal to cold waters. I have been monitoring the site since 2021, the problem is that not all the species are only confined to the water garden, moreover shrimps are infected with intracellular parasites that might cause problems if you take them home (takes around 24h to infect other shrimps).. So profiting from this video and Chris asking for more sites, I´m gladly joining in and I´m very grateful if you have information on other locations that have not yet been reported in the scientific literature (Erft in Germany, Oder in Poland, Miskolctapolca in Hungary).

Not so much to worry about, the American crayfish is already spreading and replacing the German "edelkrebs" for many years. In the river Main you can find a lot of American crayfish.

Cool video Chris! it's a shame what people do to nature, this looks like some of our creeks here in Australia around cities, in the cooler areas it doesn't bother me so much as they most die off in winter but in the more tropical areas they really compete with our native egg layer as they eat the eggs and fry, amazing to see this in Germany, I wouldn't of expected it.

Most of the canal systems in florida are completely overrun with exotic fish species. Mostly central and south american cichlids as well as tilapia, common plecos, bullseye snakeheads and mollies. I also hear there is a problem with clown knifefish in florida lakes but i’ve never seen them.

Not in Europe nor were they invasive but I went to Semuc Champey in Guatemala and the waters in the pools were filled with Firemouth and convict cichlids swiming all around. I saw something way bigger but couldn't get a clear view.

Fish reverting back to the original colour and fin length. That's evolution in action for you. They won't be noticed so quickly and when they are the length of their fins won't slow them down.

Interesting creek, there's more such places in Europe but this one looks like Amazon river ! Taking guppies home it's risky for fish already living in aquarium. But if someone place wild guppies in aquarium dedicated to them it should be ok.

Just keep it quiet and don't disclose the area. When younger kids take these fish home and add them to the aquarium just place the newer fish in aquarium salt. This salt will fix fin diseases.

They fixed the pumps for some days so the warter cool down and all fish died. So think about it when releasing fish in Nature. Esp when you release them were they don t belong to. Fortunatly the tropical Species couldn t live is cold waters. What will happend with cold Water fish you could see when regarding the invasion of "Grundeln" or "Sonnenbarsche" or american Lobster that killed almost every native Lobsters here in Germany. Or look at wormer regions like Florida or Australia. It s such a horoble Idea imo.
