Dude this series deserves more views - great job. I'm also a big fan of your voice over style 👏🏻

I'm glad you guys where there, otherwise I feel like Fred would have ended up in a very bad situation, no food, broken sub-frame, probably would have run out of other things on the way without you. Thanks for looking out for other fellow adventurers. Where was Fred from if you don't mind me asking, India?

Wow, what scenery and ADVenture you had there; the Transalp looked in its element out in the wilderness. Don't really know what to say about Frederick's situation, whilst admiring his courage to ride out there, it did seem to put others in an awkward and fearful situation for his safety.

It was a proper adventure for sure there! You're absolutely right. He's a great and courageous man but maybe a little bit reckless..

Why do you make such a fuzz about the old guy Frederick? Sure he is old and has some age related problems. Nothing unusual. Either you travel with someone or you don't. If you travel together you are in it together. Also about him eating your food. In some earlier video you ran out of money in Iran and some guy helped you along. Double standards?

Maybe I didn't explain this well enough in the video but I started the Bartang valley on my own and ran in to Federich and Roberto. They were already 3 days on the track and progressing quite slowly. Roberto ran into Frederich the first day he went onto the Bartang (and also planned to do it on his own). Frederich asked if we could ride together as a matter of safety and convenience for river crossings and stuff. So I agreed. Furthermore, it would have been extremely selfish to not go together since the valley is extremely remote and can be dangerous (also no stores and petrol). So I didn't really have an option. Concerning the food, he was already under prepared when he started the trip, which he knew was a long, multiday offroad trip. When we made dinner, often he just joined us and asked if there was something for him. The first days he never actually apologized or talked about the food situation and just took it for granted. So yes, I make a fuzz about it, because it could have gone way worse...

I completely understand and I have experienced similar situation in the past. Somebody just starts treating you like you are a paid guide and it feels like all of a sudden you are somehow responsible for the well-being of that persons or YOU are the bad person. I think you did great and I’m happy to hear he felt better. Sorry, a silly question, but when was this trip up the Bartang Valley? When is their “high water” season? Thank you.
@BertBoute Жыл бұрын
@@Colorado-Tinkering you're completely right there! It felt exactly like that. I was there in summer, which means in general really good weather but hotter. Therefore, it's recommend to cross significant rivers early morning since there is less melt water from snow and glaciers.
@Colorado-Tinkering Жыл бұрын
@@BertBoute thanks for the information. I think that the rivers would be low in the later part of summer - maybe in August? - when most of the winter snow has melted?
