Nothing major. The process is still the same. There are some additional trainings and Onboarding classes now once a new agent joins. Other than that, video is still very relevant.

When you join EXP, can you join under any agent or does it have to be in your state? Also my friend and I who live in different states are both just now starting real estate classes to get our licenses... when you join exp are you kind of "on your own" in the way that immediately you could have people join your team right out of the gate? Or do you have to do the traditional route of having 2 years experience prior to starting a brokerage? Thank you!

Great questions Jamie! When you join eXp, you will be asked to name a sponsor. Your sponsoring agent can be any agent currently with eXp. They do not have to be in the same state, or even the same country as you. Once you are onboarded, you can begin building your team. Hope that helps!

At what point in the onboarding process do you pay the onboarding fee? Is it just $149 or is it $149 + $80 to sign up at first?

Hey Vickiana! The fee will be charged once you request your license to be sponsored by eXp through your state's real estate commission. This is the last step. It happens after you've filled out your application and your independent contract application with eXp. The $85 doesn't get charged until your second month.

Just $149. Second month you’ll pay $85. The $149 will be deducted from the bank account you sign up with once your onboarded to eXp.

i am licensed right now in NY at kelleer williams and i am trying to get licensed in NJ at exp realty. i dont want to terminate my NY LICENSE, i want to be able to work in BOTH states at the same time. does the "license transfer" correlate with my situation?

You could join eXp Realty with your NJ license. However, typically within 30-45 days you'd need to transfer any other state licenses you have to eXp Realty. eXp Realty allows you to be licensed in multiple states and still only pay one monthly fee and cap. I’m a new agent and my problem is I don’t have any resources. I don’t have a laptop, computer, printer, copier, fax machine etc and I can’t afford one and even if I could I have no place to put any of it. Does exp provide ANY resources at all to help new agents started???

Hey Dave, thanks for the comment. No physical resources at eXp. You may be better off finding a local office that can provide some of these things to you.

No charge for a sponsor. I highly recommend you name someone you wish to work with as your sponsor otherwise eXp Realty becomes your sponsor and there is no benefit to that. @@josephanthony1655 it just wasn’t a good fit for me. Exp is for agents that belong multiple licensed states, also when you have a team you receive a monthly fee when your agents sell. I just have to have a home office to get things done. Also I need support from my brokerage, after hours
