Exceed expectation is not worth it at the moment (looking at the cash value of the planes you get). You could have taken the 50k and buy the 10 pico's and have 25k cash spare. I think they will change it to make sure it's worth it. Also I would at the early stages buy as many pico's as you can as well as upgrade the pico to reduce it's cost by 1/3 (Every quarter the prices go up but the upgrade task could bite you as well if you don't have enough cash). Next to that have a play when creating a route with the timing (0/4/8/12/16 hours and the waiting people at destination). The cheapest upgrade option is to buy the rights to a city which has the large runway already as that counts towards the goal.
