80 PSI is too high for the ideal residential water system. Install pressure reduction valve to have pressure around 50-55 psi. All of your pipes and fixtures will thank you.

What's the point of this anyway? I had a water heater for 20 years. Work fine and now this is required. Heck my parents never even had one. So what's the point? Is this so that local entities can make more money? 😐

All you need is the blue thread seal and wrap it only twice not 4 times , you never put liquid sealant on top of blue tape seal !

Tell the owner to get ready to replace that controller box on the water heater....they go bad like crazy on Rheem. Never again will I buy a Rheem water heater after 3 failures on mine. I have two different water heaters for my home.

Water heaters installed in the garage are to be raised 18" above ff with the appropriate support base and quake straps.
