I am Canadian and wife is Mexican. We will be moving there next summer from Alberta Canada. Cost of living here is very exspensive and looking to be in paradise like this couple.

Excellent interview, Todd and Kathleen. It's wonderful to have you as a part of our very varied Puerto Vallarta community. If you figure out how to own a business and be "semi-retired", let me know!

Ben, here's a link to our Immigration section on our website: www.expatsinmexico.com/mexico-immigration/. It will answer many of your questions. Also check out our blogs and articles on starting a business at expatsinmexico.com.

Sorry Ben, I just saw your question... i believe you need to have a temporary or permanent visa (we chose a temporary visa so that we could drive to mexico with our car). With anything here though, I definitely recommend asking a business attorney and/or an immigration attorney because the laws can and do change often.

Ben, you can find information at www.expatsinmexico.com. Just click on Immigration in the navigation bar.

Hello Marilynn, our chocolate shop is Xocodiva - www.xocodiva-pv.com. Calle Aquiles Serdan 368 in Old Town. It's a production kitchen for our chocolate and ice cream, so we can't open every day... we're open to the public MWF 11-4 and we're at the Saturday market in Old Town as well. See you soon!
