Ghanaians deserve access to state of the art facilities like Lucca Health throughout the country. We need to hold politicians accountable for the luck luster facilities. A cellphone flashlight should never be used to deliver stitches on anyone, but this happens because of underdevelopment. A lot of this happens when politicians solicit loans from the IMF actively since1983, which often puts predatory languages in these loans preventing general improvement of infrastructure. WE NEED TO HOLD POLITICIANS ACCOUNTABLE. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

It is great to hear that healthcare is also really good in Africa and other parts of the world. Health care here in China is much better, as modern and much less expensive than the scams run with American health care and so-called insurance. Best wishes to everyone in hospital in Africa. I have surgery in two days and glad that I am not in America.

Options: 1. Telemedicine consult to phase out of the US 2. Start a practice in Ghana. Having children is a major priority and people pay cash for health care. Fertility clinics are on the rise, if she has that board cert. Be sure non citizens can open a practice. If not, consider partnerships. 3. Consider locum tenen. Short term work. High wage. Then home to Ghana. Good luck!

@@ExpatLifeGhana Hi there, lovely to hear from you. I’m actually living here in Ghana and have been for the past 12-months. I’m married to Ghanaian who has no interest in leaving as we have a home together here. I’ve been travelling back & forth to Ghana for the past 7-years and absolutely love the place. I was due to return to the U.K. in May but got stuck due to borders being closed. Not sure when I’ll be returning as I’ve just invested in purchasing some land with a view of building a larger property to accommodate my family & friends who are keen to visit. I would love to make contact with any expats living in the vicinity between Kasoa & Winneba Central Region as I’m quite isolated. I’ve been watching your videos for awhile & have found the contents really interesting & informative, so keep up the good work. I pray that God will continue to bless you & May you grow from strength to strength. Ayo my condolences at the loss of your father.

@ROLEX MAN warm weather does help as when I visited Accra, I felt good most days however with SCD, you have to be very careful of dehydration which can cause really painful crisis. I made sure to stay hydrated. My brother has SCD as well and was living in the UAE however had to come back to the USA due to always becoming dehydrated even though he was drinking water. It's a fine line.

It seems to me that health/medical care would be one of the things a person would investigate before deciding to move to a foreign country. Once you are there it seems you would find a doctor to take care of routine medical needs. You definitely should not wait to become ill or have an emergencyl before finding a doctor.

Greetings Expat Life Ghana, awesome, its great to have an excellent health care facility to turn to when the need arises in Ghana. I have found out over the many years being incarnated on this planet that the best way to prevent sickness and disease is to stick with a regiment of fruits, veggies, pure water, herbs, spices, seeds, nuts and berries, others will disagree That has worked for me to this day in my elder years . Now broken bones, limbs and injuries are an issue within itself thus medical care is warranted. Thanks for sharing King and Queen of Ghana.

Greetings family I trust and hope that you guys are keeping well. I am currently sat in Paris airport lounge on my way back out . Just spent 5 weeks all over Ghana, what a trip. The food here is fabulous, tecombrie with gari and yam is one of my all time meals. The roads here are crazy, I am very surprised that I didn’t see more accidents. I have seen some real wild driving out here. I went to labadi beach on Saturday however due to Covid it was closed, we ended up on a spot between junction mall and tema port. Red red with plantains is another good one. The women here worked really hard, they sell just about everything with a baby sling on the back, I have never seen a prom here, probably not fit for purpose.

Good news...good video. Of course I'm a bit older than you guys but that is the FIRST thing I want to know befrore moving...what the medical services are like. And here in Bega we don't get Bega doctors at the hospital. The hospital doctors come from "away" and so you get a fresh approach and up to date info etc. But In Australia hospital is free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you go private. We have a thing called Medicare. I don't have insurance.
@oceejekwam6829
@oceejekwam6829 3 жыл бұрын
Medicare is not complete, depending on the treatment and your income you may have to pay for a portion of the bill.
@rickandersen2284
@rickandersen2284 3 жыл бұрын
@@oceejekwam6829Any portion of the bill is better than the whole bill. But I have never had to pay anything for necessary hospitalisation. Of course any scheme can be improved but people used to the British/Australian approach are usually horrified by systems where you have to pay. It's just a different concept.
@oceejekwam6829
@oceejekwam6829 3 жыл бұрын
@@rickandersen2284 That's true. "Bulk billing" in Australia is generally free. Like you said much of the medical treatment is free, but there's a LIMIT, beyond which you have to pay. Dental treatment in Australia isn't free from my experience. Where it is free the queue is very long. In short the Australian/ UK medical system is better than that in West Africa. Thank you for your reply.

hi Mrs Expat, I do not know ho the wages in Ghana are , but in Thailand , they have a universal healthcare, per month it costs the Thai people pay $10 per month, however the Thai cna only go to Government hospitals, the hospitals + doctors are also very good, butr not as topgrade as the top of the line hospital in Ghana. I had a Thai friend and she had a motorbike accident and she broke her hip. Her hip was replaced , and later treatment was also included. she had to pay nothing more. I dont know if they have that in Ghana, the doctors in the Government hospitals are sometime comming from college, with not a lot of experiance, however they are suppervised my expert doctors. Mayybe Ghana does that too. good luck to Mr and Mrs Expat regards Mr Michael Carmichael

Now our African Presidents need to invest heavily in training expert and professional Black ⚫ African Surgeons first... So they don't have to travel overseas to be treated in the West. I think it's one of the most embarrassing thing to do being a African Leader.... It tells the world 🌎 that we are not capable of expertly treating one another and we don't trust one another's and don't have confident in our health professionals.... We will get better....We must..
