@KagdPanda You're right they can claim anything but I notice how expats never show you any examples of progress other expats are making in terms of owning land, building houses or setting up, quality businesses & helping the Country improve it's standard of living. I work with many Ghanaians who's mentality is I should go to Africa-Ghana and " help build the " Mother Land" while he's sitting on his ass in America enjoying the good life while not helping Black Americans do a damn thing. but they're benefiting off the Civil Rights Movement waged by Blk Americans. if African Nations were serious about giving access to natural resources that's one thing but they're not doing that and these " expats know this" Plus Blk Americans should be focused on building themselves up in America where we've been since 1609 And Blacks in Black Sovereign Caribbean Nations should be focused on building up their Nations it's Africans responsibility to build Africa! I can travel there as a tourist but I'm not staying. In the 1990s I was a " Pan Africanist" but not today this one-way Pan Africanism hasn't benefited Blk America . Politically or Economically------- As Martin L King in his 1967 book , "Where Do We Go From Here" said: If the curelities of of slavery couldn't stop us. The opposition we know face will surely fail. Our destiny's tied with America's destiny! That was positive 56 yrs ago While today's Victim thinking Pessimistic thinking Negros try to bullshit you into thinking life is so sweet in Africa not in Black America.

No what I’ve noticed that is not your first video of doing that this has been going on for a long time. And I want back the train back in the station I have came to Ghana several times between the year of 2020 to the present I had never planned on making Ghana a place to live.. I came to Ghana to help some Americans who had been guided here by other Americans and found out it wasn’t what they wanted to be. Some of us that come here to Ghana it’s a Haven for us. That come from Chicago Michigan, Florida in them of godforsaken states in United States. I have lived this life long before in Jamaica with my husband. So what you need to do is do a on African-Americans leaving Ghana. Let the algorithm speak for itself. So it’s not that I didn’t have a good time. This was not the place I pick.. if I could put the picture up on KZbin I already have my in South Africa. But I refuse to let people believe that this is like the kingdom come here cause it’s not, and I see a lot of people that I know that was duke in here by other diasporas. if it works for you I’m happy for you.

My non-scientific thought is... There are a lot of people who did not do their research or did not plan properly who are leaving. I have seen many KZbin channels of people who went to Ghana without enough preparation, came back to the US to regroup and have gone back to Ghana or are planning to go back to Ghana. I am taking the long route, lots of preparation and only one move, God willing.

There's a difference between staying and living in Ghana. Am glad you explained that thoroughly. Am a Ghanaian living in the Uk. I come home every year. The feeling i get when the plane touches down on the tarmac is just amazing. You feel at home. I know and understand the system is hard if you are not prepared for it. There are no proper structures in place to make things easier. (Services) We are still developing. Things have to change. The roads, water, electricity etc. I don't know whether the African American community do meet with the government officials especially minister for tourism to talk about these issues. @ExpatLifeGhana. Ever since Ghana successfully invited the Black Diaspora back home with the Year of Return, there has been a lot of envy and resentment from certain quarters. The guy making those FALSE CLAIMS ABOUT PEOPLE LEAVING, is Nigerian. Theres another Kenyan KZbinr, who, like the Nigerian "operative", is bent on driving traffic away from Ghana. The attention Ghana is getting, has made some people really jealous. But until Blacks can be happy for one another, we can never be united. And without unity, there is no strength.

You are so right all the negative commentary I have seen about people leaving Ghana are from other Africans, it's very sad because I really believe Ghana had good intentions on inviting the diaspora and other Africans to Ghana, as Africans we really need to stop the division and unite, we have to too many enemies to be doing this to ourselves, we should be happy to see our people winning whether on the continent or in the diaspora.

@@ExpatLifeGhana Keep up the great work. What folks fail to acknowledge is that the independence of Ghana was tied with the fortunes of all blacks, especially, those in the diaspora. The black Star as the national symbol was chosen to serve as a beacon for the diaspora. Where were all the naysayers when Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Maya Angelou, Mohammed Ali, Adam Clayton Powell, Ralph Abernathy and many others were visiting Ghana? When George Padmore and W.E.B. DuBois were making Ghana home, there was no KZbin. All African nations should welcome the diaspora home and stop the jealousy. Ghana did not forget its sons and daughters who were lost and they are always welcome home. Osibisa sang about that decades ago.

This is nothing new; it’s all about supply and demand. Ghana pitched the Year of Return to the world and this might be economic based and is no less to what Canada does with its immigration program. The overall planned Permanent Resident Admissions is 465,000 for 2023 and out of this 266,210 is slated for economic migrants. Many within the economic migrants group after moving to Canada find themselves struggling and turn around and say the program is a big scam and money grabbing and they go on social media to complain. At the end of the day it’s all about economy and Ghana just like Canada opens its gate to those who can come and discover and make the most of what is available. This reminds me of a letter shared by George Zwaagstra when he was immigrating to Canada in 1951; this later was written by his brother that was already in Canada and goes like this: "George, he said, you're coming to Canada, and Canada is a land overflowing of milk and honey, BUT you have to find your own cows and bees." Yes, this is also true of Ghana which is flowing with milk and honey but you will have to find your own cows and bees.

Hello, I've been a frequent visitor to Ghana over the past decade, observing the various political transitions that have occurred. I believe that people are leaving due to the persistent lack of progress in the country can be attributed to issues of greed and corruption that continue to plague it. I am blessed with huge extended family in Ghana that would agree. While I've watched many of your videos, I haven't seen you address these critical concerns. I understand that you're not Ghanaian by birth, but as a current resident, I believe that it's important to provide the truth that people can learn and grow from. They're in Ghana doing what they can to support the community by living and spending in the country. And there are far more Ghanaians reaping the benefits of America than there are African Americans in Ghana. If they're benefiting from Ghana that's great! @@julianaansah6367 I have seen @kenganda and @corporate Junky channels on KZbin doing that. If you want a share of African Americans and Carribeans to come to your country, you have to promote your country not try to do so at the expense of another by belittling them. What kind of "pull him down mentality" is that - it isn't cool at all. We are all in for promoting Africa's strength. I mean there are legitimate issues but yeah every country in the world has issues. At least they can try to do what Wode Maya is also doing.

Ghana has always been a pioneer of most African steps in the paths of African freedom and now Ghana, is in the front changing the narrative from the long standing western lies. If at all there is any African or African country on this Loving continent who are against Ghana's "year of return" to our own brothers and sisters of African descent in the diaspora, then those people should be condemned with every word of condemnation. Secondly, the return of our own brothers and sisters to the mother land is very Spiritual and Biblical - DO NOT CAST A VOTE AGAINST GOD!!!! African Americans, Africans from europe, the caribeans, asia and from all over the world, are our own people and wa share the same DNA because we are all "THe SEEDS OF THE SAME TREE CALLED - MOTHER AFRICA!!!! Probably because they receive such a xenophobic hatred in the country and I witness it every day so that’s not fair because they’re very discriminatory just to get a place in Ghana. I had to prove that I wasn’t Nigerian do you understand what I’m saying you can look at anything I’ve ever written they ask no Nigerians please it is very discriminatory the same thing for South Africans they have lived in the country, so that is why they’re saying that they’re not mine it is very xenophobic.

I have been quietly appreciating your videos for over a year. But I have to speak up on this one because it is so refreshing, open, truly grounded and necessary. One thing though I must chip in: the narrative around the success of the Year of Return Intiative even from official sources often privileges the economic dividends. However it was rooted in making a conscious effort nationally once again to bridge the unacceptable gaps between Ghanaians/Africans and African descended People. Working for institutions like PANAFEST, this new energy was important to help create meaningful , shared experiences Obviously there's a ways to go. It would be great to talk some time about pushing that agenda forward. Once again much appreciated.

I just find it really interesting that when we decide to go to the Motherland we are expected to come with a bag! We are expected to have a mindset of contributing to society, which is right. However, when people from Africa come here, they receive all types of services and assistance; they can go to HBCUs on grants and scholarships, finances, etc. If anything, the red carpet should be rolled out for US! We are the long lost relatives who were stolen from our homeland; where is our assistance, set aside’s, financial help to get started if we choose to “return”?!!

I have family members who fill this brief and work in medicine, agricultural science & IT over there. The myths and tropes that fill American minds could fill volumes. His family generations of them are still enjoying the benefits of our work.We work the land to make it the way it is. You have to work the land to make it great. I’m retired from the United States Army I get a big pension. But just because it works for you doesn’t mean it works for everybody. This is not everybody’s destiny, but since it is so highly advertised in United States, everybody wants to come. You know there’s a lot of problems in this country. This is the video you made about this it’s not for everyone. Malaria that the people most likely have two or three times a year there is typhoid Here. The medical system is very broken. The infrastructure is bad it may be good with Yorm at, but if you want to go throughout Ghana it’s not you know it’s not so I don’t think Nana Akufo-Addo, who is paying you to promote Gamma when you know these people here are stealing as much as they can get where is the 600 million from the IMF what did that go to to create jobs here when people and children are here starving

@fredericaanderson4140 You are absolutely right, not everything is for everybody. Completely true. Just like everything is NOT for nobody, as you are suggesting. Just because YOU have not had a good experience doesn't mean WE don't have good experiences. My family has been here for years and not one of the five of us has ever had malaria, typhoid, or even COVID. We have access to modern medicine and know when to go when we get sick or injured to get great (and much more affordable) care, which has included surgery, a broken bone, and plenty of dental care. As for the government, please tell me how American politics is free from corruption? And please tell me which country you think operates corruption free? This is not to say Ghana is corruption-free, but that every place you live will have positives and negatives. And you have to weigh those for yourself. As a final point, if you think Ghana or any of it's representatives are paying us, you must be joking. Really?

I am applying for tourist visa to Ghana. On the application, it asks for host information. I do not have family or friends in Ghana, therefore I am confuse of what the application is asking. The question prior to host information, it asks for hotel information. What should i put for host information?

I have been planning to repat to the continent, haven't decided where. I also plan to vaca for an extended time, say 4-6 months to make a final decision. I do not consider myself proud to come from the usa or believe some pipe dream being advertised on soch media either. However, vids such as this one are showing the learning curve necessary to roll over in my mind. I still want to return.

Im wanting to come there but the visa online process is confusing..the instructions ask for your round trip ticket info, then they say dont buy a plane ticket till after you have recieved your visa approval..wish they would go back to visa on arrival for people from the U.S....

Ummm, please so what is the answer, should we buy a ticket to Ghana before getting a visa approval? Do you need to apply for a Ghana Visa even if your just visiting? Sorry but also, what is your guess on the estimated time to get a Visa approval after applying?

Use a Ghanaian travel agency. I purchased my ticket first and the travel agency (a Ghanaian friend connected me with him in NYC) processed everything for me. I have a 5 year visa. Process was super easy!

Africans in the west survive without family around. I think culturally Africans are more community oriented, so are able to bond with other Africans, also living wherever they go. So it helps to lesson loneliness

Beautiful couple. I’ve been watching your videos for some time. Your husband looks Ashanti, and reminds of my older brother Akwasi. You’re both beautiful people and I love your spirits. I’m Ashanti, British though. I love Ghana and I’m coming there this Christmas. More and more people are coming to Ghana rather than the opposite. In UK here all my Carribean people are looking at setting up something in Ghana and other countries like Gambia. Ghana is really the place though. I would swap Ghana for UK any day of healthcare was great and I could keep my UK salary

I disagree in part with this couple Please be real. Don’t try hard to polish up the obvious. I was born and raised in Ghana. Ghana is going down the drain completely compared to what I grew up in 20-30 years ago Obviously it’s not for everyone.

The Twerp who made that video is Nigerian who is envious of Ghana. Some of them do not understand why a small country like Ghana is always setting the pace. Ghana helped Nigeria and 15 other countries to gain independence in 1960. Even today the largest minority in Ghana are Nigerians and continue to flood into the country. Jealousy is his problem.
