Very very lazy analysis, not taking into account what happened during the season. 11 players out at one stage. Way way less depth than the top seven or eight. No centre half's for six or seven games. You may call them excuses, but they are real. The manager did well. Put a spark in the premier league. He likes attacking soccer. We all like that. Some teams have become boring.

I fully agree. He is coming into the club and implementing his style to embed it into the club as a whole and over time will bring in the right players who fit into it rather than chopping and changing systems based on the squad he inherited. The media praised him for the first 3 months then jump on his back when results went off track. But they played loads of games with 4 full backs in defence due to injuries and his squad depth was very low. There is barely any realism anymore.

Where Don is clearly naive is that the players endured 3 very defensive managers. Ange had to establish a playing style and culture his first season. Once the players understood their roles to where it’s instinctive, he can then put in the tactics. If they sat back in the Chelsea game and parked the bus, he would have lost all of what he was trying to install and the players may have been skeptical. This season may have some tweaks since most of the players he wanted to keep are back and understand what he wants. We’ll see.

They were down to 9 men against Chelsea. Wasn’t naive. The fans and players loved it. It was to send a message that they would not compromise, that they were always going to go for it. Overall, they were largely done by injuries last season because they had little beyond the starting XI. Had guys like Van de Ven, Maddison not gone out for so long due to injuries, and had players like Bissouma and Son not had to be playing international tournaments mid season, they likely would have been more consistent and ultimately finished higher.

Lazy lazy analysis. Ange was complete changing the fabric of the club last season. His style wasn't at all naive, sometimes you need to force your way of playing because in tough moments the players will go back to what they are used to. we had to play Ben Davies and Emerson Royal as CBs against City last season and still managed a 3-3 draw. There was lots that didn't go Ange's way but above all he implemented his philosophy and now we can start to fine tune and adapt the system but everyone has to understand it first.

This is painful to admit as a Spurs fan, but Arsenal is amazing right now under Arteta. But it wasn't so smooth sailing since the beginning. A few seasons back, Arteta had vision. He wanted to play the Pep style football. We all laughed and mocked him (especially as a Spurs fan). Arteta and Arsenal's "trust the process" became a meme. He ended the season 7th or 8th, I think? then bottled top 4 the next season. Everyone made fun of him. But look at them now. Arteta took out the deadwood and brought in players and over a few seasons, and they became fastastic. Sure, they still haven't won the league, but no one can doubt their last two seasons and their recent progress. I still hate them, but I got to admit, they are a scary team now. their "process" is working. Same is true with Klopp and his run at Liverpool. It took some time for Liverpool to get their PL and UCL winning form. Sure, Spurs still have lots of room to improve, but what's exciting as a Spurs fan is to see your club finally start our version of "process" after a few seasons of painful boring football. Spurs have a very young team, lots of youthful talents, coach with a vision, and a healthy finance. The next several seasons will be exciting to watch, whether we deliver or not. (I hope we do). The only thing that scares me is, there are a lots of PL teams in the early stages of their process. Aston Villa under Emery, Eddi Howe's Newcastle. Brighton and their recent recruitment. There are a loads of teams all craving success. The next several seasons of PL will be a bloodbath. Sucks as a Spurs fan wanting trophies, but also excited as a PL fan. PL is gonna be competitive AF.

I am a fellow but much less optimistic Spurs fan. Arteta played on highest level and was coached by some of the best and decided to implement Pep's style. Arsenal supported Arteta based on this track record. Klopp joined after several successful seasons in bundesliga . What is AP track record? Winning Scottish league with the club with player valuation about 2.5 times higher than the next most valuable does not constitute good track record. Last season in last 28 games we had 40 points, good teams learned and adjusted to our tactics, we chose not to adjust. I wonder how Conte would fare if he had Udogie, MVDV, settled Poro, older and wiser Sarr. Isn't it ironic that Newcastle 4-0 demolition was pretty much a Conte ball type performance.

Because teaching the players the system was, at that stage of development, far more important than 3 points or a point against Chelsea. Spurs were down to 9 men and Chelsea only scored 2 in injury time so it very nearly worked and the players will have learnt a lot from that game about what is possible. Don's comments don't take into account teaching a new system. He advocates throwing that out the window and delaying the squads development. The theory that Spurs were found out doesn't hold up for me. The pivotal moment came during the Chelsea match when key players were lost to injuries and suspensions, disrupting the momentum Spurs had built. Fringe players, previously deemed unsuitable for Ange's style, were forced to step in. The team's rhythm was further affected by breaks for international commitments. Moreover, Maddison, who started the season in top form, returned seemingly diminished, leaving Spurs without a creative midfield force. I believe Ange will stick to his strategy, potentially with Solanke or Tony leading the attack, which could prove transformative. If Spurs can consistently score early, their dominance could be overwhelming. It seems crucial for Spurs to have Eze challenge Maddison or even replace him should Maddison fail to recapture his form from the previous season.

Hislop is clueless saying Spurs have been a “hard watch. What’s he on about? Pochettino made them play well. Mourinho got them to a League Cup final but then got sacked. Then he goes onto to slate the Community Shield when ESPN are showing it live. Hawhaw- way to sell it to your paying audience Shaka. Don Hutchison’s facts are atrociously wrong.. Spurs didn’t play Eric Dier as centreback as he went to Bayern Munich. This isn’t the first time these two clowns have got it wrong. Sack them both and I’m a NUFC fan.

Do these people doany research before their analysis or do they all just riff off each others fact-free-takes based on little to no research. “They got found out” is so lazy & cliche it’s unbelievable. Spurs had the most injuries in the league, no one else had more injuries. They lost Maddison, Romero, Micky Van De Ven, Udogie all in one game. Show me a team that isn’t Man City that can lose 5 of their starting 11 and still play the same way.
