Also, that's a complete rewriting of events. We didn't play badly after the Chelsea game because teams worked us out. Things didn't go badly until post-Jan! Chelsea didn't tactically work us out that game individual players cause major problems - Romero being the main culprit.

Danny Kelly is spot on with his assesments, really needs to be on more. Angeball tactics work best when possession is only rarely lost to allow counterattack. A lot of our players fall short of this with poor first touch and Bergvall is showing how it should be done with great touch and control. Bissouma, Maddison, Sonny,, Skipp, Solomon,Werner, Johnson, Richy, Deke and some others all fall short on this.

It’s simple in Ange’s mind. In the three different countries he’s been in, once he has a squad of players who can play his system/philosophy sufficiently well he believes (and his titles back it up) that he will be successful. Last year he had players like Gil/Hojbjerg/Dier/Emerson/Davies/Skipp etc…. Who are better in other systems and it takes more than one summer to sort. We still finished fifth and only just off the champions league but people talk like we are now a mid table side……bonkers.

Last season we missed so many chances, failed to press as he wanted us to and gave the ball away countless times which gave teams a go at us. As mentioned in the video all our best players last season were our defenders, mainly because of a major lack in midfield which tells you it’s not their ability to defend but the teams inability to play the way Ange wants us to all over the park. I’m not saying Ange’s system isn’t without flaws but we sure as heck haven’t seen what it looks like in full flow yet as it’s still a squad full of of other managers players. Hopefully by the end of this month another couple of key players are added.

Because we were mid table in form after those first 10 games. That 10 game run we had at the beginning of the season pretty much saved us from embarrassment. Last 10 games we're 15th on the table. We've consistently looked extremely vulnerable on the transition for a while now. I truly do want Ange to succeed but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried.

Tottenham went from the dour football of Conte to a high intensity and pressing team. The team ran out of steam at the latter part of the season but also had one of the toughest schedules. Cascarino pretty much ignores this. Ange is trying to implement his football but more importantly build a new mentality in the squad. You don't do that by abandoning it before you've even implemented it because you've lost a few games.

If you look at the stats, our first team defence let in as many goals as our "second" string defence. Seems to be more of a system issue. Constantly being counter attacked with only 2 players (CB and CB) back is causing chaos for us. I thought he might use the CDM to drop back in to a back 3 if he wants to persist with 2 inverted wingback... seems that is not the case though. I'd expect him to be gone by Christmas.

It's just a time thing, see how the squad performs this season if there's no alot of things that get in the way, a first season is a first season and 5th place isn't that bad considering everything gone on. Sold best player, Long serving GK essentially left the club (still trained), new system, some new players to the team (cohesion with the players around them), alot and alot of injuries last season, small squad, players playing out of position (Royal going to LB and CB, Son attempting the Lone striker role, didn't do too bad but he barely had many touches in the box, Davies can play LCB of a back three to an extent but its more difficult in a back four also doesn't have the legs for LB anymore etc) It's a first season for a new manager, with limited resources in terms of players, the main thing was teaching the players he had through the season how to try play the system as many weren't the right player for it but they still had to learn so that the players who were right for it could play their roles correctly and learn them while doing it (so we'll see ones who aren't right get phased out as new players come in).

Ange’s tactics are suicidal, no one plays 2 inverted full backs it just doesn’t work in the prem! Leaving them exposed massively at the back, another thing is the midfield is no way near good enough and the forward line isn’t far off either as no one can trap a ball always lose possession high up the pitch and teams get in behind easily.. people may say you can’t blame Ange as the players cannot play his way however 5 of the 7 forwards are his own signings and besides probably kulusevski (average at times) they’re awful forwards. Probably a good idea to drop 10 yards deeper and play with 1 inverted if that’s the way he wants to play and than go and buy a no.6 and a proper no.9 and might do ok.
