Helsinki was one of the few capitals in Europe not conquered in world war 2, and it was mostly not badly damaged by bombardment, so many buildings are very old in European capitals standards.

My brother lives in a place in Finland called Rovaniemi which is known to be ‘Santas Hometown’. He tours people from across the globe around to see the true beauty of Finland. I got to come along on the tour and see the Northern Lights, go Ice Fishing, watch Bears play with their cubs and go to Santas Village Finland is a beautiful peaceful place. Every mile or so on the road, there is a pre-set up fireplace with a hut full of chopped wood so you can bring along and cook your own food and admire the wonderful views

Helsinki what a beautiful country. The islands and the lakes are what did it for me. From the UK so i don't get to see stuff like this. Honestly it's soon beautiful. You have to go and see to understand. Finlands natural beauty is unbilivably amazing. If you go spend time visiting the islands and lakes. It's very similar to Canada in that respect. If you live in Europe it should be first on your list to visit. Got more then what I expected when I went there. But do go in the summer because Finland has some long winters. It's also very cheap to visit. I paid a little over a 100 pounds

Turku has been destoryed in the 1960 by some idiot architects and corrupted politicians, shame couse its one of the oldest cities in Finland. Turku would be a beatiful city if it wouldnt be burnt down in the early 19th century, it destoryed all of Turkus mediavel buildings. Only thing to see in Turku is the mediavel cathedral, castle and some museums and a small district of the poor people from 18th century that survived the great fire. There is much hidden gems in Finland, like the west coast has some beatifull cities that has old towns.
