I use crossmark as well. I use wired in my bike and carry 3 extra foldable tyres in me when I'm riding. I love wired because it is easy to remove. I only use foldable for "extra tyres"

Just because they are not folding doesn't mean they are cheap, on my bike it is extremely hard to get the tires on and especially off, but it's impossible with folding tires. My rims are double lined and it's like wrestling with Andre the Giant each time to get them off.

Atleast Continental uses "better" rubber on folding tyres.
@CanIHasThisName7 жыл бұрын
The correct statement would be that Continental uses absolutely horrendous rubber on their wire bead tires. In fact, all of their non-Protection tires are made either in India or China and have poor quality control, on top of having worse materials in them. Brands like Maxxis or Specialzed do not do this - their wire bead models are simply the least expensive options, albeit with the same level of quality control.

That is wrong, FOLDING and WIRED TIRES use the most advanced rubber who is available across the board of any manufacture who actual sponsor MTB racers. I think you only think about lightweight fast rolling XC tires but in the other disciplines you need a much tougher tire who also can dig in and allow you to go insane fast on corners. There are tires like the Onza IBEX for DH , top of the line for racing who are only wired because anything else will fall apart to fast.

Uhhhhhhh, this video just doesn't really answer the question put forth in the title. I could care less about puncture resistence, tpi, etc., etc. This video isn't a review of the Crossmark. Since both tires are exactly the same except for the bead, please just go out and put 50-100 miles on the wirebead tire and then take it off and do the same with the foldable bead tire. Report on any difference, if any. Then, the question is answered. With this said, I've ridden wire and foldable versions of the same tire (most recent was the Panaracer RibMO road tire) and I can report that there is no difference worth mentioning (assuming the design/specs are identical). The foldable bead can be easier to put on though.

Couldn't. You couldn't care less.
@Apexclipper5 жыл бұрын
"Since both tires are exactly the same except for the bead". Both tires are not the same except for the bead. He clearly explained that the lower TPI tire with wire bead has a much stiffer carcass, more rubber between threads and much higher resistance to cut & puncture damage and greater tread longevity. The higher TPI tire with folding bead is lighter and carcass is more compliant to road surface.

Is the rims in very good condition. The rims I have is a little bent and it's touching the brakes. I'ma take pictures of the bikes I have so I can order some bike wheels and inner tubes. If you have some wheels and inner tubes already on the I rather take that option instead of just buying it seperate. Like a car or a truck it should be a way to Mont a spare wheel on a bike especially the back wheel ? I have like three 26 inch wheel bikes. I have a Orange Cannadale I believe it's 27 inches but I'ma take good clear picture. If you have Tannus Tires that's even better ??

Good explanation bro. My new fat bike had a very soft compound tyre. I couldnt get those tyre rolled smoothly even going downhill on asphlat road. I tried adding tyre pressure but not much improvement. Now im using a cheap hard compound tyre just to experiment and to my supprise , the cheap and heavy tyre improve my bike rolling drastically. I dont think those tyres are durable for long term use, hence im planning to buy foldable tyre as emergeycy back up tyres.

I think wired one are more easy to turned into tubeless with a hand or foot pump, specially the swalbe which are very difficult to sit, while maxxis and continental are so easy to sit on the rim. They wired swalbes sits better and are more tied to the rim. On the other hand wired ones dont forgive errors in pressure. If lets say they have 45 PSI limit and you have it on 40PSI and it is summer while tubeless (120ml -150ml tubeless liquid), they might exploded (get off the rim) cause of the augmentation of air volume in the tire. Once a portion get on its limit it takes all the tire out like a train, both sides...

Can you use wired tires on carbon rims?
@alydude20112 жыл бұрын
Hello Danny. Question, I’ve got two cannondale bikes , 2016 caad 8 105, and supersix evo ultegra. However I just decided to buy a very old school 100% fully rigid mountain bike and fell in love with it. It’s a 2001Marin Bolanis Ridge with old school 26x1.95 wheels. Even a grip shifter. I don’t know what it is but it’s super light and fast ! Now I’m hooked on it , it looks brand new. Anyways my question is I’m a street road pavement rider only. I ride anywhere from 20-50 miles whenever I’m on it, climbing hills and cruises in nice plats, neighborhoods. My question about tires is this , my original tires on bike as you can imagine are new looking tread wise from never being ridden by previous owner but are extremely dry rotted everywhere! I want to purchase the exact same tire size but wondered what you thought would be the lightest fastest tires and tubes for the bike. I’m having a hard time finding this exact sizes anywhere. I have found maxxis pace online. 26x1.95. I’m looking for max rolling resistance also of course. What tires and tubes do you recommend for this purely street purpose bike. I also saw the continental race tubes . Any recommendations from you specifically would be highly appreciated. I’m a subscriber and fan of your channel all the way down here from Rhode Island. Thank you Dan. Aly

I love this bike; it is easy to use, very compact kzbin.infoUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and it is just as described. It is a bit heavy, but at 35 lbs it is expected. I ride this bike over curbs, on rocky roads, hills, and trails with no problem. The assembling pieces got loose and it takes certain positioning for it to tighten up. Otherwise, I equipped it with proper lighting and mirror (which broke off), it's good to go. After riding a few hills, I was wondering if I could modify the bike to have bigger wheels, which I discovered it couldn't, that's fine. I just wish there were bigger wheels. I would totally recommend this bike to anyone whom is not a serious rider and want something compact and fun. I'm using this bike to train for an Iron Girl Triathlon. It gets tough, but it is doable.

Is eating fish the same as eating pork, both are the meat of an animal? Breadfruit is a "fruit" but I can't compare that to any other fruit. A 27 1/4 is much bigger than a 700c. I use the Continental Gastorskin Wired. Because they will stay on better if you have a flat at high speed. Also keep the valve stem cap on. It will additionally help keep the tube and tire on after a high speed flat. I share this because i live in a mtn area and have experienced high speed flats. Imagine getting a blow out on a downhill in a corner(a tiny small sharp rock) As you attempt to stay in control the big 27in will try to separate from the rim. That is where the wire is best.
