Love this, but maybe next time have a range, like an entry level bottle, a top shelf bottle and then a splurg bottle to better highlight how far apart each step is, if any.

It’s funny how many people have expressed an aversion, later in life, to whatever liquor that got them intoxicated for the first time. I’m actually glad that peach schnapps was my entry point because I’m fairly certain I haven’t been missing out from avoiding it since lol. 😂

Daryl is a great bartender. I frequent McCormick's on occasion to try rare spirits and by far, he has provided the best customer service of the times Ive been there. The selection at McCormick's is quite exceptional when it comes to spirits in Richmond and having someone like Daryl to nerd out with over rare bourbons and scotch is cool. Don't know the guy personally but wanted to send a shout out to some great customer service!

Dewars, ginger ale, and Rose's lime juice was my drink of choice about 25 years ago.

I'm not sure that you could have told the difference between an $80 single malt and the $300 single malt. I agree that the really cheap blend is not going to taste anything like the expensive single malt. But top grade whiskeys are much harder to tell from their medium grade counterparts.

I'm sticking with the Dewars, thank you very much. The Macallan does not taste 15 times better than the Dewars, and if. like me you only drink it on special occasions, by the end of the bottle my Dewars is 10 or 12 years old. So there's that. And, yes, I drink it neat and I rather like the burn/bite alomg with the peat.

Scotch in general costs more because of shipping and handing. Scotland's highways are horrible for freight trucks, especially in the northern half, frequently very narrow, if not one lane, constantly fluctuating speed limits that rarely go above 60 mph. The more remote the distillery, the longer it takes to transport the supplies, even before it ever leaves the country. A $12 bottle of Evan Williams would likely cost $35 if it were made in Scotland.

Come on guys, 2 options... That gives them a 50% chance to guess right. Give them 3 and they are more likely to guess wrong. Guve them 5 and the results are likely to go bad.
