A local spray company had an 8rt that they put saddle tanks and a 3pt 120 foot sprayer on and they kept burning through bogey wheels. They ended up finding a poly bogey wheel that Deere has that dissipates the heat better. I’m not sure if that’s what you guys already have but it’d be something to look into

You need a custom indoor hot wash bay, cattle grid floor with a automatic muck scraper underneath drawing the mud to sump.

I'm glad you folks do what you do because we need your corn for fuel and your soybeans for plastics -- but I have never understood how you sell all your outputs for wholesale, pay full retail for all your inputs and come out ahead. Plus the sress.

Not that you would use it often, but have you ever considered building a stand to hold the hose? I'm thinking like a hose cannon you see on airport fire engines. That way, you could swivel and pivot the hose without having to support it or "fight" it all day. Just a thought.

Put a ripper shank in front of the ditcher to make it easier in hard ground and it deflects some rocks

Just a pleb thought, could you make a water canon that injects high pressure air from a compressor into the water stream at the nozzle. I’ve used these cleaning ship holds and it’s very effective.

The company that we leased or track tractor say they pull them inside and they take the tracks off. I don’t know if that would be any easier

I wonder if your wheel problem has to do with the narrow tracks and the amount of weight they carry. Also I know dust lubricates the tracks but what about wallowing in the mud

I have found that keeping the speed down on the narrower track machines almost eliminates bogie issues. Red or Green. I run both and don't let the guys run them over 17 mph. Thats plenty fast. On the Deeres i actually go into the monitor and set up a max speed.

Worked for Deere but now retired. About 10-12 years ago, the original single track 9000’s had similar bogey wheel issues. I wonder if the same thing is happening again? P.S. I do enjoy your videos!

Hey Chet, you can source American made shirts, hoodies and other clothing now that's ten times better qaulity than Chinese made crap. And you don't have to worry about your products sitting in container ships offshore of San Diego or Los Angeles. I've no doubt your buyers would pay more for Made in the USA products that buy import crap that falls apart in less that two years at best. Well, this was an interesting video tho.

And you don't slog around in the mud like these guys I bet. It's the frozen mud chunks knocking them wheels to pieces. The ground is frozen on top and gets in the boogies, and the mud freezes up in the boogie wheels like rocks overnight.

It's a auxiliary fuel tank for extra fuel capacity. It was a pretty common add on that really was great for long days .

John Deere fuel tanks were designed by a union man, at 8 hours you're out of fuel, so to work farmer hours you needed to add a tank

FOR SALE: JOHN DEERE 4640 Slightly used by Dougo. Dual terrain tires ( used both above ground and buried to the frame). Tractor comes " pre-ballasted" with 4500 lbs of mud, but windows are freshly washed. Tractor is presently not being sold with Dougo included, but make an offer and that may be reconsidered. Yep, it is very rare to find good help, although I think Eric grew up on a farm, so he has been around it all his life, so that makes a huge difference. But Eric is a dang hard worker, there is no doubt about that. Heck up until a couple weeks ago I thought him and Chet were brothers,lol. Plus Eric treats things like its his farm too, rather than just acting like a employee, which is also rare to find someone who is both a hard worker and does things like its his farm, instead of just doing what asks of him and thats it.

There is simple fix for those bogie wheels, its call graphite powder. Look into that, you will save your self 10000 dollars a year.

Need to install a pull through wash pit....all of the rock mines in my area use them and they are super nice keeping tires and tracks clean coming out of the pit.

@@realredditstories420 No I am referring to a active wash pit. Its full of water and has jets along a 40 ft area to constantly clean the track/tire area. The operator simply drives through without stopping.

For as long as John Deere, Case and all the others have been building tractors, they should know how to build them so they would last but I’m sure they design them to break so they can keep the money coming in.

Chet we run pretty much the same green you have you are on the right track with the fire hose in Ny State we have gumbo mudd the stickiest clay there is we use a 5000 Gallon water truck with a 6 or 8 inch feed hose to a fire engine running wide open pumping 1000 Gal a min( im guessing) to a 3 inch pressure hose with a high pressure nozzle probably 90 PSI to 100 PSI a fire hydrant pushes 60 PSI and it blasts that clay right out we still have to hot water pressure wash to finish you just need to super size your pump and hose alot more GPM and alot more pressure will do the trick

Dirt ,grain and steel found the perfect way to clean the mud out of the tracks. A diesel powered Ingersoll air compressor. 135 pounds of air blows the mud right out. His latest video about half way through shows him cleaning out tracks combine.

That's why you don't buy a John Deere with pretend quad tracks. Case IH has perfected them and the rest are just trying to figure it out. John Deere just don't get it and don't have the lugging power of the red ones.

If you sell that old 4640 and replace it with a newer one then you're basically marrying yourself to the dealership, but I like my independence and selfreliance. I keep these old tractors around just for independence and peace of mind reasons, anybody that's a little mechanical minded can fix them. You shouldn't get rid of it for that reason.

I am glad you Guys like tracks but one wash job like that and they would be down the road! I have worked on farm equipment all my life and I can’t believe how unreal expensive tracks are to buy and maintain like the boogie wheels on your 9RX! If I farmed I would run LSW tires, they are amazing! Just my 2 cents worth. Keep the videos coming as I really enjoy watching your videos!!

The wet mud clumps basically turn into dirt rocks when they freeze. Wintertime in the morning and you want to get to work out in the fields & no time to clean, the frozen clumps will tear the hell out of everything. Amazing there is anything left!

@@armedfarm3429 I have heard that before from other farmers. It wouldn’t matter as much if a person farmed in a warm climate were it never freezes. But then again the whole tracks are super heavy as they are you wouldn’t want to carry all that extra weight from the mud. I hear trying to buy a new track is very hard and if you find one the price it outrages!

@@icebabysnocain just rode 1,400 miles from San Diego to La Paz MX…basically the entire length of the Baja Peninsula. Hardly “Dangerous”. People were very welcoming and hospitable of us and the American Dollar. Adventurous trip, but not because of the people or the like. Just terrain we encountered. Saying Mexico is dangerous is a overly HUGE blanket statement. Don’t believe everything you see on mainstream media outlets.

Thanks for another great video. It was most interesting. Sorry about all the mud. Really makes a mess for you cleaning up equipment. Wow. Lots of hard work I am sure. If you are losing a lot of bogge wheels that can really be expensive. I would think John Deere has some type of update for that. Just doesn’t seem right. Big struggle bus item I think. Agree with you Dougo. Hang in there. Your ditch digger really came apart hitting all the rocks. Assume it can be fixed. Tough weather to operate in. My best to Chet and Eric for cleaning up all that equipment. Tough work. About it for now. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. I learned a lot about nose pickers when working downtown Phoenix, AZ, it doesn't matter if the guy is driving a Bentley Bentayga or a 1972 Ford beat-up POS, they all act like the glass in their vehicle is not see-thru, they just pick away like crazy, and they don't care who sees them. 😲

​@@BWYinYang As a retired engineer I find it hilarious that people think things can be "designed to fail." It's a real challenge to design them to work. Figuring out all of the part's use variables and then having the part fail at a certain life cycle point is nearly impossible. It's far easier to design the best part or system you can within the budget and manufacturing constraints given.

Dougo the fire truck is a great idea I have a couple of friends that use them to wash there combines off. You can find them pretty cheap also. Purplewave or there's a place next to me that builds them they always have trade ins I've bought alot of sexless fire hose for irrigation hose for a traveling gun .

JD seems to really have one goal in mind: extract as much money as possible from the farmer. They're painted green because its the color of money. Engines blowing up, transmissions failing, tractors that refuse to calibrate...oh, and acording to them you don't have the right to fix it yourself either.

Chet check out track works in highland Illinois they sell reman bogies and idler wheels with poly instead of the rubber and have a lifetime warranty

Check out t-Rex ditches. Big rotary wheel that will go through everything you are going through. And it handles rocks very well. Neighbour down the road builds them
