Sabrina Frey tells her story of battling ocular melanoma and the fundraiser that helped along the way. More information is available at ocularmelanoma.....
--
Sabrina Frey is a mother to four school age boys. Originally diagnosed with a small/medium tumor in January of 2013, she has been battling metastatic disease since spring of 2014. She has gone through many treatments at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Carbone Cancer Center and with the Metastatic Uveal Melanoma Program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Her treatments have including a liver resection, systemic immunotherapies and immunoembolizations. She is currently stable and has shown remarkable results following Delcath’s Percutaneous Hepatic Perfusion (PHP) treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center under the care of Dr. Jonathan Zager. While her health remains good she enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities with her boys and spending time with her friends and family.

Scary that KZbin knows of my diagnosis and is flooding my feed with videos like this. This one made me cry. I guess I'll be watching many more videos along this journey.

I just found out I have 4 lesions in my liver. Today is Friday, and Monday I'm doing an ultrasound guided needle biopsy. I'm scared, I'm trying to prepare myself for the worse. I ahve 4 children ages 20, 19, 14, and 7. I'm only 39 years old, just passed the state boards for LPN, got a 32 hour/week job as a nurse, registered for classes to fin8sh my 3rd semester clinicals for my RN, and all this comes to wash it out my perfect plans. I have trust in God, and I am hoping for the best outcome. He knows what is best for us, when is best, and why... pray for me!

I was just diagnosed with ocular melanoma too, and was told it could spread to my liver. This all seemed so remote and unlikely. But I'm scared.
