🐰Japanese inns are known for their polite service, but the hospitality here was truly exceptional. The staff's OMOTENASHI stood out. 🐰When saying goodbye, the staff lady who looked after us gave me a Japanese candy and a letter scented with chrysanthemum. It was so touching😭💕 🐰The Tanka-zen breakfast requires advance booking, so don’t forget to reserve. 🐰At the Asaichi (Morning Market), the shopkeepers threw in some extra treats for us. We only bought two oyaki, but ended up with five in the bag😂 It's Time to Travel Membership kzbin.info/door/QDKpfTS6haXS6BAHebR8Hwjoin

Musuko, my son, just spent his first day in Narita Japan, from Australia, today and he sent me a short video saying - yes, we all know everyone in Japan is so nice, but EVERYONE IN JAPAN IS SO NICE! The hospitality is beyond amazing! It certainly shines in this video, service that goes above and beyond 🍁🌼💜 Beautifully presented as always 🪷 Arigatou gozaimasu 🙏

me, too!! right after that part in my head i jokingly thought, "hey, i was watching that!" 🤣 hooked all over again whenever its on.
I like room 108. All are nice with the tranquil touches of a spa. I like the sound of dripping or running water. So soothing. LOL the candy was like a walnut, hard to open. As an American, we're used to large dishes, but I like the food being served as samples. There is so much that you end up full anyway. That breakfast looked awesome. Thank you for sharing your unique experience.

ive thought about this, too, for the meals. at least in the videos for this channel, there always seems to be really, really small helpings of each dish but at the same time there are a LOT of dishes. so the amount of food in total for the whole meal ends up being quite a lot. personally im always amazed they can eat it all. i really dont think i could. but anyway, that lends to what you were saying that the smaller portions leaves room for a wider number of dishes in the end. and cant go wrong with a multi-course meal, right? lol.

I didnt know about Hirugami Onsen, and its always great to learn about new places. For me, when I choose a Ryokan, I am looking at the baths and the food. Those are the two most important things there. I also prefer to stay in a Ryokan where we can sleep on futons in a room with tatami covered floors. For sitting however, I like to have "western chairs", as I cant sit on the floor without having pain in my legs after 2-3 minutes. As we dont drive, we have to rely on public transport. And as we always prefer to stay in a place for 2 nights (and not for one night only), we prefer to stay in a place where there are some restaurants (for lunch) and some other facilities / things to do or visit during the day.

What a beautiful ryokan and the dinner looks so amazing ! Personally, I prefer to eat in a restaurant in the ryokan, is possible in a place where each room gets a separate little room for eating. I like it to be private, but I dont like to eat in our room, because even though the food is delicious, I dont like to have food smells in our bedroom. Your channel is really great, thank you so much for the amazing content ! I like all your videos about places of accommodation in Japan (ryokan, love hotels, special places like the yurt place) and they give me great input for future trips to Japan. Thank you so much for the wonderful work and so many amazing videos.

That Zaiho room meant to be a "hideaway"...that one reminds me of that one area you find in Ghost of Tsushima where you have to find a new place to reside after you are branded a traitor by the shogun and even your own uncle when you choose the path of the Ghost. It too was a hidden area with a residence.

Thank you for showing us the festival-themed food, too. Was the chestnut rice made with sweet chestnuts (Castanea sativa) or horse chestnuts (Aesculus hippocastanum)? As I understand, both were foraged and eaten in historical Japan, even though the latter are only used for ornamental trees in Europe.

The cost of staying at an onsen ryokan can vary quite a bit depending on the meals and experiences you choose 🤔 In Nagano Prefecture, I recommend Hirugami Onsen Yumoto Hotel Achigawa and Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Kakeyu. Both offer a standard onsen ryokan experience at a more affordable price. 😊♨️
