We love VA’s Upper Class, having flown Upper Class several times. Our next VA Upper Class flight is LHR to JFK in a few days. Agree that the seat that you flew in should be updated. Delta is normally our go to airline (we live in the States). But when VA services a route that we are taking, we fly VA every time. VA Upper Class service is vastly superior to 11:46 Delta One. Delta says that Delta One offers an elevated experience but service in Delta One not up to par. Delta fortunately recognizes this as they say they will be starting Delta One service training soon. Good thing. However, the Delta One lounge in JFK is a game changer. We have been three times now and all were an excellent experience.

I booked the Upper Class from Manchester to Vegas as it was the newer aircraft but it's changed to the old style 😢. Was looking forward to the new style smaller UC cabin. I agree the 'coffin style' are due an upgrade.

Very succint video as always. Not a fan of those seats - facing inwards, have to get out to change into a bed. English sparkling wine rather than champers seems like a bit of cost-cutting. However, the FAs are usually terrific and the best part is the LHR Club Lounge.

The cheek of Virgin using an almost 20 year old UC product!!! BA are still using their old Club Suite on some long haul routes. Thanks for the lovely review. It's been a long tie since I flew to Vegas!

I’m quite often one of the people at the bar 😉 but 11A is shielded from direct view of the bar by a wardrobe. 10A and 9A are more affected by noise at the bar I’ve found. The wardrobe shielding also means it’s less exposed as a bed.

Good video. I am considering taking Virgin up on their status match offer, that they recently announced. I am currently BA Gold, and am considering joining the Virgin Flying Club but not sure if their programme is very good. Can you share your thoughts on whether it might be worthwhile. I fly about 5 or 6 long hauls per year (so could easily move most of them from oneworld to skyteam), with roughly another 5 to 10 being into Europe, therefore would likely keep my BA club account going as well.

A great review as always. The product looks dated, I avoid flying the 787 and A330 300 in Upper Class where possible, though I'm flying the A330 neo to Miami next month in Upper Class and the suites are fantastic. When did VA stop replace Champagne with Sparkling Wine as a welcome drink?

Thanks. They seem to have switched to sparkling wine as the welcome drink at some point last year. It’s a shame because the current onboard champagne (LP) is once of my favourites 😃

It’s slightly more enclosed and private for a night flight. The bar doesn’t tend to get used at night so isn’t an issue

Personally I dislike the cabin layout, in my view everything looking very tired the pref departure snack looked pretty sad a small bowl of crisps, wine selection was pretty cheap in comparison to most competitors. Dinner looked ok but presentation was poor if I were paying full price I would be disappointed Virgin standard is poor with nothing out of the ordinary. BA in my view offers a better quality of service and despite the recent changes to the tier system I would still chose them over VA.

For the actual seating layout and seat Virgin Atlantic 787 is absolutely terrible, I find it uncomfortable and if on the side where you face each other very poor for the price you pay for no privacy, and personally BA flying the A350 in the club suite Is far nicer. As for service and the Club House at Heathrow is fantastic and on board no complaints. Overall I still think the BA Club Suite on the A350 is the best for seating and privacy, Virgin Atlantic Upper Class as a whole experience with the exclusive check in, Club House, being able to take a travelling campion not flying in Upper Class Into the Club House at Heathrow with you is excellent.
