The .9 cu. ft. version of the NeoChef, the model that is the microwave without the grill feature, has no stage cooking, and no sensor cooking. Instead it has just an auto cook and auto reheat buttons. You have to step up to the 1.5 cu. ft. model to get sensor cooking.

How do you set cook times with 5 second increments? Ex) cook for 15 seconds (not "cook for 20 and stop it early")

Ok you say SET TO THE TIME YOU WANT, but if I wan't 3:45 I have to use a different brand of microwave. Some things have very specific times...

Update: My NeoChef microwave conked out after five years, just stopped heating. I do not consider that to be a good lifespan for a microwave as I have a Panasonic that works fine after 25 years. The interior rusted out badly though on the Panasonic, and it is only recently I decided to re-paint the interior, which is a lot of work, days of sanding, but it came out fine. Now it is a backup to my new Panasonic, which I like a lot, and it also has a dark interior surface. I will not buy a NeoChef or LG microwave ever again. First, I'd like to mention what I liked best about the NeoChef though, in case you have one -- the easy-clean interior surface. Any splatter which would ordinarily get baked on over time wipes off easily with a damp or wet cloth. Congratulations for LG for using this surface. Worst thing, besides the short lifespan, no stage cooking. The NeoChef does not have a conventional control pad, but a slider sensor and unique system for setting the cooking time and other parameters, which takes some getting used to. The markings indicating + and other things are so faint, I used pieces of tape to make them more visible.

honestly, the fact that it still works after 3 years is one of the nicest things to hear. Even expensive appliances seem to have such a short shelf life these days. Thank you for the review!

@@VultRoos Well, my NeoChef conked out, just stopped heating after five years, and I am back to the Panasonic brand, one I bought from Ebay, new, but with a slight ding. I actually have two Panasonics now, one a Genius from 1999! The old one, I gave up after 15 years only because the interior got rusty, but after I got the new Panasonic, I thought I'd undertake painting the interior of it myself. It took days of sanding, but I repainted it and it's holding up well, but I just use it occasionally because I like my new Panasonic. My new Panasonic has a dark interior that cleans well, too, similar to the NeoChef. Besides the short lifespan, the bad thing about the NeoChef is lack of stage cooking, which I use a lot.

Bought this microwave 1 month ago. Used couple of times and worked fine. Now for some reason is not heating up my food at all. Not sure what I did but the light inside the oven is on plate is turning time is working but is not heating at all. I play with the heating stages and still not working. Not sure what's going in on. Anyone else had this issue?

We are having this same problem now. I am wondering whether you pressed the CLEAR button before you set up the TIME and the TEMP. This video clearly instructs users to press the CLEAR button before anything else. Try that and let us know if that solves the problem.

Just received our LG NeoChef 1.5 Cu. FT, (LMC1575SB) yesterday and cannot figure out if it has 2 stage cooking? Everything points to it not having it because it's not referenced anywhere, if this is so I will be returning this tomorrow, what an oversight to not have that feature, 1 minute on high and then 4 on 10 or 20 to cook the soup noodles fully. Please tell me I'm wrong!

@@LGUSA You must hold that button down for 3 seconds to get it to switch to the CLOCK. If you do that you should see it changing away from the TIMER.

Microwaves can’t function without the door closed. It won’t heat properly because the microwaves would exit the microwave. Microwaves are supposed to bounce off the walls and back into the food, that’s how you heat it up. Additionally, any microwaves that come in contact with your body can potentially make your cells unstable - can cause cancer.

The 1940's are calling. They want their microwave oven back. 20 years ago I saw LCD screens on sewing machines. This oven should have 10 selectable melodies including off. You should be able to turn on or off the reminder melody. I still have a working 40 year old Sanyo Cusine_Master X-80 that has 3 stage cooking, temperature probe, 100 cooking levels, preprogrammed cooking, and a numerical keypad.

Hello, I just received our new LG NeoChef 1.5 Cu. Ft. (LMC1575SB) - yesterday and it doesn't appear to have 2 stage cooking, our 20 year old Panasonic had it and I can't go without it. Can I assume by your comment this model honestly doesn't have this feature? I was just convinced I hadn't figured it out yet. Thank you.

Not a fan, bring back numbers. The options are great but if i want a time longer than 2mins i find this very annoying to set the time. Ppl mentioned how other options are only available with door open but thats not a issue for me. You have to open the door anyways to put food in and check the food. For things like popcorn where you dont want to stop and start you can add time without opening so thats no a problem. Really i just want my number pad back to set the time easier the scroll timeer is annoying

@@tegangayford1467 Okay but the SENS functions don't work. I tried a bag of popcorn of the size specified in the manual and it burnt all of it. Also used the reheat casserole function and after two minutes it started counting down from 4.5 minutes. I stopped it and it was super hot. If I left it for another 4.5 minutes it would have melted the glass turntable.

Works for me. Set it all with the door open and close to start. I crisped bacon up in it just takes its time to sense it all I guess.

Do NOT buy! This broke in 2 years, the warranty is only for a specific part not 10 years like it says in the front label( it does not specify a specific part only on product) no point in having a certain part covered when the whole product stops working!!! JUNK!!!

Mine conked out after five, which is bad but at least I got some use out of it. I will never buy an LG again. I have a Panasonic Genius that is 25 years old and works fine but the interior rusted out after 15 years of use and I have it as a backup, because I decided to re-paint the interior, which took many hours of sanding, but it came out okay.
