Camarón de la Isla is unanimously considered the greatest flamenco singer to ever live with a God like status. Only because in Spain it’s accepted that the flamenco singer is the principal artist, while the guitarist is there to accompany the singer, Camarón is more adored if possible even than Paco de Lucia also unanimously considered the greatest flamenco guitarist that ever lived and with a God like status. However outside of Spain few people know him whereas Paco is second to nobody in flamenco and known worldwide as solo guitarists flourished. Camarón died relatively young of lung cancer in the early 90’s. Paco died suddenly of a heart attack ironically three weeks after quitting smoking while playing soccer (fútbol) on the beach with his youngest son in front of their beach house in Mexico 8 years ago at 66. The flamenco world is an orphanage without them.

I am an American living in Andalucia, Spain for 25 years and everyone knows who Camarón and Paco de Lucia are here but go to the US and if the people know what flamenco music and know who Paco de Lucia is , 1% of those people will know who Camarón de Isla is. Es muy sencillo Che. Look at the record sales. Gypsy Kings out sold anything Paco de Lucia.

Thank you for reacting to this and help bringing flamenco music to people who still are not familiar with it.Bulerias is a flamenco genre recognizable for its rythmic pattern and up tempo.Each verse tells its own story and often there´s no relation between verses.Camaron starts singing"I found him along the way/ and we became brothers/ so I invited him to mount on the back of my horse",in the middle another verse says "what a bad luck I had meeting you/ I was living so fine before/ your love is a punition to me" and he ends singing "Oh Mama,they wanted to kill me in that little hut".Greetings from Spain!

Two giants of Flamenco art have unfortunately disappeared. Paco would have liked to be a singer and Camaron, a guitarist, but Paco was too shy to sing and Camaron was not a very good guitarist. In their fields, they were simply gigantic!!!

There's something hippie-like, summer of love-sleeping under the stars and road trip-ish in flamenco, and this performance perfectly encapsulates it. They both were from Cadiz, Southern Spain, thet grew up in the beautiful beach of that coast , probably the wildest of Andalucía. There are a lot of super hippy beach bars where you can drink something in the hot summer nights of the area listening these two masters. Well maybe you are from Spain and know Cadiz better than me lol, but if you are not do not discard holidays there, are fantastic.

Camaron was a great singer. And a revolutionary in the wordl of Flamenco style Paco was a god. All over any other. But Flamenco is not the only spaniard guitar style. Lesson Clasical, Gaspar Sanz or Ribayaz, Argentinian, Mexicans, Peruvians, ect. And dont loose your ears to Cubans. It is only a council from a friend. A´m not gay, but I love you, brother. You are great by your self. Thanks for all your work.

Spanish is from Spain (in Europe) of course. What you think is spanish because they speak spanish is really from some of the 20 different countries from South America that speak spanish: Argentina,​ Bolivia,​ Chile,​ Colombia,​ Costa Rica,​ Cuba,​ Ecuador,​ El Salvador,​ Guatemala,​ Honduras,​ México,​ Nicaragua,​ Panamá,​ Paraguay,​ Perú,​ República Dominicana,​ Uruguay,​ Venezuela​ y Puerto Rico. So, it would be better if you start to call people by their REAL nationality because is un-respectful for every and each of the people who belong to a certain country. The only Spanish is the people from Spain, the rest should be called by their real nationality, Mexican, Peruvian, Colombian etc etc.
