We are talking about the greatest flamenco guitar player of all time, Paco de Lucía, and the most famous flamenco singer, Camarón de la Isla, together. I'm not into this style, I'm into heavy metal, but these people are gods and myths in Spain. Even a person who never heard this before can realize the greatness and emotion this performance shows. Orgulloso de nacer en su tierra, Cádiz. El maestro Paco de Lucía, a pesar de no saber leer música, tenía más horas de ensayo que cualquiera. We will have to wait more years to know Rosalía’s development. We can’t compare them yet and we shouldn’t compare them in the future. Rosalía is a great musician, we just have to see her evolution. Hating her instead of supporting an artist who creates her own music (which aren’t many these days) doesn’t makes you having a better taste for music nor cooler/alternative . If you listen to her albums you’ll know her music is good, better than the 90% of the music on the radio.

@@zzzzn1011 I love Rosalía, I think she's one of the greatest things that has happened to modern music nowadays, but in my personal opinion, I think this goes beyond the music, it's more about the feeling, and don't get me wrong, if you listen to Los Angeles, the first album of Rosalía, which is entirely made of flamenco covers, you can definitely see that she has the potential, but she chose to do this more trap-ish sound, which again, totally cool, I love it, but the feeling behind their interpretation is very very different.

Free translation into English 1:13 "I met him on the road and we became brothers, I invited him on the back of my horse." (maybe related to Paco and him? they were great fiends) 1:30 "Oh you are asking God, that my mother would die. My mother has already died. There's no one who loves me, I don't love you anymore, let alone me." 2:50 "Grandparents, parents and uncles. From good springs, good rivers are formed. Grandparents, parents and uncles." 4:46 "Oh, don't tell me no. Oh, don't tell me no. If your mother doesn't love me, I don't love her either. How can I love you if she says me no?" 6:02 (I couldn't understand, you spoke in the middle of the song) 7:15 "Sitting in a river, on an old log I saw a little bird wanting to sing but he was hoarse. (He) cried out in sorrow . (He) was crying with sorrow and in my hands I gave him water from the river with mint leaves." 8:46 "What do I want to live! If my life is an ordeal. Since I met you and I kissed your lips."

Want to hear something amazing? All her comments are on point when you know the lyrics. In spanish he's singing a song about his dead mother (her first comment was that he was crying). Then he's calling his grandpa, father and uncle (she said he was making a call). And yes, Paco is a fantastic guitar player, perhaps the best of the last century. Paco and Camaron were geniuses of music, just not known beyond the spanish speaking world.

I'm not that into flamenco, but I have to say that that "ok" sign you did in regards to the guitar playing doesn't ever come close to the legend level of Paco. He's considered one of the best guitar players in history, and not only in Spain and the flamenco world, but in general. By the way, you should check the lyrics Camaron is singing, his tone would make even a lot more sense.

Boris Pi actually it’s interesting that the texts are often not that deep in flamenco, it is the soul behind the voice that touches you. This comes from times of persecution. Camaron however, on top of that, wrote texts that are really meaningful - i would recommend you to listen to the estrella chiquita by camaron, the first time I realised what he was saying it made me cry me hizo lloraaaar
