Oh, man. After having moved to the Chicago metro region, I know some natives that would have a stroke telling you all the things that make that not quite a Chicago dog. Seriously, there are so many fecking rules: - Chicago dogs MUST be all beef, preferably by the Vienna Beef company. - Tomatoes MUST be cut into wedges. - Relish MUST be weird iridescent mutant green sweet relish. - Peppers MUST be "sport peppers." Using pepperoncini is subject to fine. - Bun MUST have poppy seeds. - Whole thing MUST be topped in celery salt. - Uncooked white onions MUST be finely chopped. - Pickles MUST be quartered dill spears. - (The yellow mustard is fine... but it MUST be yellow mustard!) - Hot dog MUST be assembled in the proper order. Add to bun: dog, mustard, relish, onion, tomato, dill spear, sport peppers, and celery salt in that order. - If there's any ketchup in the same building, you have to throw the whole thing out and start over. Any deviation is subject to polite passive aggressive midwestern disdain of your existence.

I need those dehydrated pickles... 🤤 I can imagine this being such a perfect, delicious snack. Now I am considering buying a dehydrator just for dehydrating pickles... Well I am polish so my obsession with pickles just makes sense. I need that in my life. Btw, steaming bread is kinda a thing in the US. I saw emmymadeinjapan on KZbin steaming some ready made burgers with buns inckuded in a steamer basket and it's apparently the best way to reheat bread.

That is such an iconic American food that my only reply from here in the States must inevitably be to dehydrate a fish-n-chips. With vinegar. Or maybe a chicken tikka masala. Hope you enjoyed it, Mr. Shrimp; thanks for another fine low-key entertainment.

rehydrating the hotdog bun would be simple with a 20 second blast with a microwave at high heat as it would 'refresh' the bread
