Great stuff. I am so happy that somebody else is doing experiments like this :) My pond is made of steinless steal that used to part of a giant wine press. Yesterday the first dragonfly adult emerged :)

This is wonderful, I knew that you had to feed them meat later on in their development, but I didn't realize that they need more food during the initial growth phase. Thank you so much for this experiment!

My pleasure….I’ve discovered that they are essentially all pigs and will eat almost anything, I bet they’d even have a nibble on me if I fell in! 😂🤣😂

I’ll definitely try more for the captive tadpoles I gave to my local nursery to observe, we have them back for the Easter holiday never would have thought to add fruit. Very interesting. Mason wasp Ancistrocerus species I think at the end, hard to identify which one as there are so many and I couldn’t see clearly.

I’ve been trying pieces of cat food from early on but I think they only eat ‘meat’ from a certain point in their metamorphosis as they weren’t interested. I’ll try some later though, perhaps they’ve become carnivorous?

Thank you! First year tending some tadpoles. They don't seem interested much in anything I try to feed them.

if all else fails, fish food!

@@Calastein Today, I noticed they went for the fish flakes. I also gave them some boiled green pepper, they liked that. Thank you for this video. I have thrown various leaves that people say are edible for humans in with them, but the only one they seemed to be interested in was the plantain - the kind that grows in cracks in concrete. They appeared to be nibbling holes in the unboiled leaves.
