Experimenting with Real Rust Again, Patina for Scale RC K5 Blazer

So many of you keep asking me to try the real rust again, so i did some testing again. I definitely need more restraint with it, but I learned a lot from this exercize.

The Metal Master product is designed to be super heavy. You ONLY apply exactly where you want rust. The activate what you applied. The rust streak is an all over coat and wipe back. The process is completely different for each and they can be layered by doing the rust streak first. Then you apply Metal master just where you want the pool of rust or rust trail drip....

Weathering is one of the great arts of modelmaking and requires a lot of skill. I think a common error is overdoing the corrosion, but this is all part of the learning experience.

Love what you do. Just an idea. On older chevys the hood hinges tend to rust and creases the hood. Have you tried that yet?

I tried it on the blazer. One side has a kink, just the plastic is so thick it didn’t look as good as id hoped.

I havent done a lot of that, I think the last time was that citrus strip, worked ok, I still had to come back and sand on it.

These are element rc take offs, 1.55 wheels on their general grabber tires. The wheels have the perfect backspacing for the blazer body.
