Of course they were cautious, people with concussion often do not remember . They probably kept her longer as she is well known for not doing as she is told. Also remember Liam Neeson's wife small bump on the head and she died, bleeding on the brain, it was missed, hospitals are cautious especially with a 73 year old plus a princess.

I despair that a non - medical person should be referred to as an expert on head injuries by the reporter on this broadcast, however if you listed carefully to the report Angela Levine did nothing other than make an observation and not express an “expert opinion” as suggested by the reporter. Head injuries at any age can be serious and obviously with the ageing process it can take longer to recover. Amnesia following an incident is not uncommon, and given those factors a period of observation in hospital may be necessary followed on discharge a period of rest and recuperation at home allowing the brain to fully recover. That is exactly what is happening in this case. So in essence the care and treatment process in this instance is perfectly normal. I think we can rest assured that the Princess Royal is on the way to recovery which is why she has been allowed home - we should also remember that she does not like fuss concerning her private life (including her health) and we should all including the media respect that.

Well, a lot of the ‘slimming’ was not of his choice. His father and mother passed, his brother had to dip out due to scandal, and his son… well, let’s just not go there. A slimmed down monarchy in theory is a good one. The tax papers shouldn’t have to pay for a bunch of hangers on who do little public service. The problem for the king is there aren’t a lot of mid age royals currently… most of them are either 60+ or still children. Anne and Edward are keeping their kids mostly out of the limelight, and didn’t give them titles, but most of them could be potential working royals if they wanted that lifestyle, and I’m sure most of them do not. Andrew’s girls are saddled with both their parents’ scandals and have seemed to be in the pro-H&M camp, so can’t be fully trusted. So who is left? Even poor Catherine, who should be one of the stars of the RF right now, happens to be ill (probably due in part to the stress and pressure put on her by a jealous duo in the US who keep throwing grenades at her and then pretend they want to offer ‘olive branches’). Thank goodness the king has Camilla and William who have really held down the fort, especially now poor Anne is unwell, also. This is such a streak of bad luck. No one could have predicted so much illness and accidents happening all at once. Annus Horribilus 2.0

I wonder if Priness Ann's discharge from the hospital was on her demand! It's common to have amnesia from an accident. I'm a nurse and amnesia is not a big concern as long as their present memory of the present is not effected!

It's Normal for a person at any age to not be able to remember the details of an accident, especially if they are knocked unconscious! Trama of any kind will often cause these symptoms! I think everyone needs to be VERY Cautious about how they report the incident & Speculation does more Harm than Good. Don't believe the "Gossip Mongers" let the Princess Royal recover in Peace! She's tough & she'll be back to her Regular Schedule when SHE'S good & ready!! (I can just hear saying it exactly like that, too)

Yes - my son was hospitalised with concussion after a basketball accident - 20 years later, he still can't remember what happened or the ambulance journey to hospital. It's perfectly normal for this to happen.

The injury did not occur while riding a horse. It has been said that if she HAD been riding the horse, she would have been able to control it. But she was walking on foot and the horse incident occurred very unexpectedly and I am sure very suddenly. Perhaps she will take a companion on her walks in the future. Still, horses are strong animals and evidently can be unpredictable. It may have been a “freak accident” that could never have been prevented-unless Anne never goes outside near a horse again. I don’t suspect that will happen. So sorry this happened to you, Anne. Hope you can get the rest and treatments you need to continue healing.

Any head trauma patient is kept under observation for 48-+ days,need to be woken at short intervals.Brain scan,Eye test etc..all take time ,results etc.I would say she was released a bit earlier because she would be Happier at Gatcomb,under care of some qualified Specialist nurse.😊Hoping fir full recovery soon P Anne.🎉

Concussion is a brain injury. It’s actually characteristic of a concussion loss of consciousness and short term memory loss. Sometimes word finding, or other neurological impacts. The older the person the longer it takes to fully recover. Nurse here USA, 30 year experience in critical care and wellness programs.

Does Angela Levin have a direct line to Princess Anne's husband and her medical team? If not, this is all guess work on her part. Apart from Ms Levin, other commentators have also have also stated that Princess Anne will be very frustrated. Unless the Princess or a family member has stated that this is the case it is all supposition. We've been this route with Princess Catherine, haven't we? Let's not do it again. Rather just wish Princess Anne a speedy recovery and leave it at that.
