I really love this video. I’ve watched it all the way throughout a few times, about 20 minutes at a time before I go to a class. Watching experts putting the moves into action helps me realize better ways to move when I’m rolling. Right away I started getting compliments on how smooth a move was, or was able to finish a submission - and I think it really helped me get the blue belt promotion. Thank you Roy for these videos you do!

Roy Dean's videos are probably (or actually?) the best videos on here regarding conceptual understanding of jiujitsu. How it's broken down, the calmness of the presentation from Roy Dean, and the belt requirement videos are inspirational and also a great way to review and refine one's general technique. Thanks so much Professor Roy Dean!

I've been in the grind for 1.5 years now, I can do everything these guys do in this video... while I am watching the video, but for some reason when I actually get on a mat and roll with anyone for real, for some reason I can't do any of it anymore! Every time I finish a Jiu Jitsu binge on KZbin, and then get headed to the gym to train, I am aiming sharply at a belt advancement. Every time I am picking my sweaty, wrecked, mess up off the floor an hour or so later and get headed home I think to my self........ Ya know, this white belt I wear ain't so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@joealias25942 жыл бұрын
Because the moves themselves are just step 1. The much harder part is learning exactly how and when to apply them to make them work against good opponents, and that can only come from experience.
