I have a Bernina 2000DE overlocker which is 30 years old and still performing well which don't want to part with. I would love the covercoverstick function. If i keep my overlocker and buy a bernette 48 do you think I would be ok with the machine? I know how to thread the machines without airflow business. I just don't want to be disappointed with the bernette as I have been used to a Bernina.

Dear Vicki, the handling of the bernette machine is different from the BERNINA machine. We recommend that you test the bernette 48 at your local BERNINA dealer but we are sure that you will make friends with bernette. Please find your local dealer on the link: bernette.com/dealersearch

I would love to see a fabric guide accessory added to the choice of optional extra’s. Baby lock machines have great one that slides & has measurements then locks in place. Due to vision issues I find it difficult to follow the imprinted guides on the bed of the machine when sewing hems.

Dear June, Thanks for your feedback. We add your wish for an adjustable fabric guide to our list, but please do not take this as a promise. I wonder if you already tried a competitive seam guide on the bernette, there are accessories out there that match the holes for fixing. On the other hand, the tip I can give you - it is your machine, so you may color the lines to your liking. Use pens in different colors to mark the lines you use most - blue, red, black (reminds me of the ski slopes). May be this tip is helpful to customize the machine to your needs? Wish you successful and joyful sewing with your bernette!
