Curious Eric how Expert Electronics will handle both TPM v2.0 (mandatory Win v11 requirement) because Win10 enters EOL in 2024 & will receive no further updates & current Win v11 requirements currently are 2017 gen 8 Intel or 2018 AMD CPU. The rig looks amazing & the price tag is no surprise but I, like many are a bit worried that our investment might only last 5 years tops. Wished Expert got together with Jason (KM4ACK) as I'm sure they could come up with a less forced update OS like W10. Last thing one wants just before a major contest is the radio applying hours of "feature updates" like I see on customer sites

A little experiment from our customer Chris/YO3TCO. He put Linux Ubuntu to MB1 radio. A couple days ago he put into the radio macOS. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qF7OhJl_fM1qpMU
You may want to blur out the Windows 10 Key. Cool video.

Well, I do not! Is there a Windows 10 computer inside the transceiver? This is cheating. Make it on FPGA, a system in a chip .. then we'll talk!

I fully agree...windows is a not for me...why they do not use Linux I do not know. My Flex 6400M , though the internals are Linux (smart) the interface touch screen is Windows 10. Many issues and thats what you would expect from MS. I am so glad the K4 is ALL Linux and I will be migrating to the K4 for this reason. I am tired of stability and upgrade issues with Windows in the transmitter.

You have the choice to install Linux on it too but I didn’t know enough about Linux to change the OS

"Like a Dell version of HDMI." No, that's a DisplayPort. HDMI was developed for consumer electronics. DisplayPort was developed for computers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort

Oh ok, what’s weird is Only my dell monitors have it lol

@@HamRadioConcepts NO many monitors support Display Port it has been around for a while, it also supports the faster refresh ratings then most HDMI products. current versions of display port is 2.0 which can support up to 240Hz at 8k if both video card and monitor are capable of it. It is also easier to multi monitor with DP vs HDMI

Nice, but 7,000 price tag---No thanks. I don't see the justification, and simply putting the computer inside the rig is not novel, impressive, or justification for such a hefty price tag. Plus the microphone looks very cheap.

Actual technology. I’m not saying it will all work just saying the yaesu fan boys think being able to hook strait to a monitor and hook up a mouse is hi tech. Makes me laugh how they think that’s actually new tech. Bluetooth that only works with an extremely small amount of products. Go ahead and pile on the comments but you know I’m right.

Linux ROCKS! Microsoft Windows SUCKS! I could be a customer of the MB1 Prime if it only had Linux.
