It's about time we did something other than culling to prevent these attacks. Instead of trying to prevent these attacks to begin with, like gps tracking, people would rather be too blood thirsty and just look at killing them. People also keep forgetting that they are entering the shark's domain, not the other way around. So everyone should know the risks before they enter the ocean. Nomatter how far you go into the water and for whatever reason....

I have been amongst sharks and the ocean environment for over thirty years in a very broad range of areas all over Australia. I dont presume to know everything there is to know about these massively robust apex preditors......but i have seen first hand and through my fathers generation also the changes in sharks behaviour and their populations. Not all sharks are an issue but their are several species that are an issue in our waters. Bull sharks are just part of a huge problem. I had the privilege to live in a time and areas where you were able to share and use the ocean, but if i tried to swim in those same areas now there would be no chance. When you speak to those who catch fish for a living or for recreation you get the picture that sharks are taking so many fish and its the same story everywhere in Australia because of over population numbers. Wherever you go you will pull up great fish with no body attached. It also use to be much safer to swim in rivers and share the ocean when all sharks weren't protected pre 90s ish. The ocean is their backyard but the backyard is out of control with some unruly clients that need to be checked before the backyard is only for the suits. Gps tracking is a waste of time......we use to tag and record details measurements times locations etc and its good info but wont change the outcomes for anything thats an issue......unless you just stay at home and dont share the ocean as we should be able to.
