@Gamology4 жыл бұрын
That's very interesting
@nephicus3394 жыл бұрын
@@Gamology Yeah, it was a silk cape, called a Horo; as the samurai would ride, it would catch the window and billow outward into the shape of a balloon. When arrows would hit it, the structure would deflate partially, and the arrow's momentum would get caught up in the silk. Of course, while riding, it would billow up again very quickly. It could catch several arrows. Nobody knows how many, because escaping on horseback is a tricky target to hit with a bow and arrow under the best of circumstances. I'm not 100% certain as I can't find images or video; but I think historical weapons expert Mike Loades may have been the one who tested the effectiveness of the Horo.

From 1:29 to 2:20, Hello there, I've seen some of these reaction videos before and I always enjoy seeing others react to stories or movies that I love. I just wanted to leave this comment here, as I feel that, as someone who has experienced The Arkham Series for myself, I might just have an explanation for your criticisms from that particular moment during the action. During that moment, when the camera zooms in on Batman side-kicking that enemy and everything is in slow motion, that sort of scenario in the story typically only happens when Batman is facing a SINGLE opponent; this applies to Arkham City as well. So I agree with the stance that lowering your leg during that kick instead of immediately pulling it back would leave one vulnerable, but perhaps Batman is doing this intentionally, as he is just finishing off the last of the opponents he was fighting in the area, so therefore he wouldn't need to worry about defending himself since everyone else is already down. Just a thought I suppose! Either way, thanks for the video, and have a good night!!!

2:35 100% correct. He in-fact uses the steel weights in his cape to stagger enemies sometimes, too.

Rechanbering after a kick reminded me of the Taekwondo classes that I took. The instructors said that you should rechamber kicks. Memories.

A lot of Batman's flowing style was taken from the fighting style he used in the dark knight movies. It is called Keysi Fighting Method (KFM), though in the games it was enhanced with other techniques from other styles. But the core still is KFM.

Gonna say the same thing I said on the Street Fighter video when he talked about Chun Li. Noah: "Oh we got Nightwing?! HELL YEAH!" Me: "Ma Man." This guy is a man of culture.

Before, Batmans costume was just for show but over time it got more high tech. Bullet proof armor, ears that can pick up any radio frequency, night vision cowl and best of all a cape that hardens with an electric current to glide then loosens for easier mobility.

A really good example of rechambering back into stance and why you should do it is Stephen Thompson vs Anthony Pettis. Thompson has a strong side kick but he'd slam it down after throwing it. And it leaves him ever so slightly leaning forward. That's why Pettis was able to catch him with a Superman punch after he threw it again.
