Just re-watched the video, and while I appreciate the effort that goes into making an in-depth review like this, I noticed something....your SPL meter is set to A-weighted, which rolls off the low end, and is primarily used to measure sound levels in factories and determine safe exposure levels. When used to evaluate speakers, the unweighted or C-weighted scale is more accurate, since it includes the lower frequencies when measuring.
@expertisland5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for noticing that. I watched some videos about weighting and you are right. from now on I will test in C. FYI I got 10 extra dB out of the Speaker.

Hi, I'm about to replace the old passive subs i use. After watching your presentation i believe that these TS315s would be my best option to suit my TS315 top speakers. However in Australia they retail at around $850 each, whereas the Behringer B1500xp retails at around $689. $1378 vs $1700 (for a pair) is a fairly big jump in price. Do you think they are worth the extra? Thanks for your videos.

I would certainly have considered to give the Alto subs a shot, but the TS3 subs are way too heavy in relation to their performance. Saved up a lot more and got myself 2x EV EKX-15SP which are the absolute limit of what I can carry around for

How do you like the ev subs? Choosing between this and the passive version of the ekx-15sp. thx
@DSP13373 жыл бұрын
@@crispa1861 Due to Corona, I only got to use all my PA sound equipment only once (at all). But I can say with confidence that two of the EKX-15S subs were more than enough for a 200 people event (seated, indoors). If I remember correctly, I had them running at around -10/-12db and the were amazing! Deep enough for 95% of the mainstream music, easy to carry even up one flight of stairs and easy to set up (note, the lowpass does NOT affect the XLR outputs, only what the sub itself plays). I am not a pro sound guy, but I have great memories of what the EKX-15S were capable of. Together with the ELX-200 12p mains (which had to be cranked up higher to about -5db and sounded a slight bit overwhelmed), 2x Alto 308 as monitors and 2x Alto 308 as delay lines. Cant say anything about the passive versions though.
