I wake up when there is barely any sunlight. Same to my friend in France, who is apparently in the same timezone yet much more offset to the west, so he goes to school in actually zero sunlight. Either way, I don't understand why schools necessarily need to start this early? Jobs are more diverse in terms of shifts, so can't the same apply to schools? Oh, wait. That's already a thing. Except I'm 99.99% sure it relies on your parents who don't understand why you can't simply just be hyperactive woken up in the middle of the night, let alone that such an option even exists.

Setting alarms to remind you to sleep helps a ton! I’ve used this trick for about a year and works like a charm. I usually sleep at 10 PM and I have alarms at 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM. This way I’m reminded that I’ll have to hit the bed.

I do a lot of these things, as for the few that weren't mentioned: I often use homesprays or spray some body mist on my pillow, and write notes of things I'm afraid I may otherwise forget, I also manually do the dishes last thing before preparing for bed, it's like meditation and a moment to let my thoughts run free, because I always do this before preparing for bed I alert my body it's about that time. And once I wake up, I make sure to check my agenda and roughly plan out my day, then have breakfast, and take a shower. *Edit Oh, I also have this whole night and morning skincare routine, to feel clean before heading for bed and after my shower in the morning.

This actually explains a lot. I was a swimmer and as such I was swimming in cold water first thing in the morning. This gave me exercise, cold water, and gave me a stretch. When I stopped my sleep immediately suffered

Apparently drinking coffee right before bed will help you with a hard wake up. If you wake up you wont go back to sleep Truckers do this all the time

Pro tip: if you have severe social anxiety or difficulty speaking to people, just don't sleep like a day or two. You'll lose all sense of reality and won't panic or stutter, works everytime

that is some awful, awful advice lol. not sleeping makes it so much harder to process emotions! practice breathing techniques and have something fun planned to do after the stressful thing, it will balance out negative anticipation with some positive.

QUICK COMMENT!!! REM sleep is actually the lightest form of sleep, however is only happens after the deepest form of sleep which is why it sometimes gets confused with deep sleep. And the deep sleep is the sleep that makes you feel not tired in the morning, not rem, rem is important however in memory formation and body repair LIKE SO OTHERS CAN SEE PLZ
