The Passover lamb was a prophetic type of Jesus. Just as the blood of the lamb saved from the destroyer only those whose house was covered in it, similarly, today only those who are covered by the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God which takes away sin of the world, are saved from eternity in hell. The Passover Lamb was supposed to be killed without breaking any bone (exodus 12:46), similarly the prophesied Messiah wouldn’t have any bone broken, as the prophecy also indicates (psalm 34:20). The Messiah IS that Lamb. Just as in the Old Testament he who didn’t eat the Passover lamb was cut off from his people (Exodus 9;13), Jesus also said “he who doesn’t eat my flesh nor drink my blood has no life in him” (John 6:48-58). The Passover lamb had to be roasted, (exodus 13:8) and in order to roast it you have to open the arms of the lamb, wide open, for it to be cooked well, Jesus also had his arms wide open. In the Old Testament in psalm 22:16 the piercing of the hands and feet of the Messiah are prophesied. In psalm 22:18 the casting of lots for his clothes is prophesied. This is fulfilled in the New Testament. And in psalm 22, the end of the psalm indicates the resurrection. Because of psalm 22 is that Jesus said from the cross “my God my God why have you forsaken me”(psalm 22:1). Jesus is the Lamb that if someone doesn’t eat, he has no life. Bethlehem where Jesus was born means “house of bread” and Jesus said “I am the bread of life that if any man eats he shall live forever” (John 6:48-58). The Talmudic Jews have had no sacrifice in 2000 years since the destruction of the temple until today, no sacrifice in the modern religion of Talmudic Judaism and thus they are “cut off from God’s people” according to their own scriptures (numbers 9:13). Jesus's last supper was on Passover and then he was imprisoned and killed that weekend so the two coincide. This was symbolic coz as God delivered the Israelites from bondage, in the same way Jesus' death is freeing them from bondage of sin and a lifetime of animal sacrifice should they accept Him. Christmas was changed to coincide with winter solstice to prevent Christians from joining those festivities, let them celebrate Christmas instead eg. putting up holly in your house was pagan ritual to hurry spring on. I don't know about hannukah's timing.
