Welcome to another video on the history of Jerusalem. Today I would like to present to you a topic that is rarely mentioned. That is, who lived in Jerusalem before the Israeli conquest of the Promised Land? I will not only present you with a Biblical perspective that you may know very well but also look at extra-Biblical sources that describe this area. In the last part of the video, we will compare Biblical information with secular sources and try to synchronize them. I am sure some of the information will be new to you, and I hope you will find it interesting.

My husband and I will never get to go because of my back and my limitations on walking. I guess we will just have to wait and see the New Heavens, the New Earth, and the New Jerusalem when God creates them. Exciting times ahead with our Creator. Sometimes I wonder, how was I ever so blessed to have God's only Son bleed and die to wash away my sins? Wow. And He resurrected to triumph over death to show us that we also will live forever. Good video. About 4 years ago archaeologists found a tablet in the sands of Egypt. It named the Pharaoh, and was a receipt for cotton and wheat from Egypt to "The House of David". Given the Pharaohs name the tablet was dated to around 1,200 BC and is the first reference of the Jewish King David who slayed Goliath and became King of Israel.

We Muslims don't believe that Islam began in the 7th century but it was completed in the 7th century with the final Prophet Muhammad. We also believe in the Israelite Prophets who came before Prophet Muhammad. I don't understand what do you mean by Muslims "have little deep connection to the Promised land". Thank you for producing and posting this. The reading of ancient books and study of ancient peoples has always been a passion of mine. The history of the Jews is my favourite, due to its richness and the abundance of ancient texts ascribed to Jewish authors. Keep in mind when tribal society predominated, many ancient peoples had 2 leaders, a Chieftain responsible for civil and military matters, and a shaman or priest in charge of the peoples spiritual and physical welfare.

However, this has not taken place, much to my disappointment, and I have longed for some form of valid teaching about the history. From biblical accounts what you have said tallies with documented historical facts. After King David's conquests more than 3000 years ago nobody even including the Arabs can claim this city Jerusalem. The British empire in their pacification policy created a non existent nation called Jordan and tried to put questions on the ownership of Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the city of King David. In the very beginning Mechelezediac was King Of Salem which was all the lands of Jerusalem and Judah. Now being that Abraham was blessed by Mechelezediac, then this meant that Mechelezediac was a forefather to Abraham who he had blessed. So some time had passed when Abraham's son Israel who fathered all the Twelve Tribes of Israel and before the Exodus to their promised lands. Now here is the main point. Shem outlived Abraham's wife Sarah by ten years, and it was Shem who was blessed by God as the only High Priests after the flood. Being this was the case then Mechelezediac had to have been and older Shem. And being that Shem owned all those lands before the Canaanites cane and took them, then all those lands belonged to the Israelites who were in fact all descendant grandchildren offspring of Shem who owned the lands.

The thing that kept coming up was the fact that after Noah and all his son's and grandchildren cane out of the mountains they followed the Euphrates River to Hebron, however Hebron was Hams lands so they traveled just farther southwest and I Believe Noah had died right there at Salem and his son Shem was left over at age 600 when Abraham arrived there. The second clue was why did Abraham give Melchizedek a 10% tithe of everything Abraham had? He did so because Melchizedek had to have been Shem in his old age. Which also made him Abraham's Forefather abd High Peiests

In Arabic, there is a term Fulani that can refer to guys, blokes, hicks. It has come to be applied in recent centuries to peoples otherwise known as the Fulfulde. Thus may be a similar phenomenon to Israelites to whom the Egyptian, and later Cana'anites, refered as Habiru, which stuck and so came to be applied to the Israelites as a racial designation, and Israelite as a nationality. Just a guess, but there exist similar cases.
