I think the worst part of PoE is the systems you have to go to other websites to get the best results. Sure you can jump in and just play, but if you don't do little research you'll just waste time (which that is what games are for, wasting time for entertainment) but I wish they had tutorials for all these within the game rather than having to watch someone explain it. ty for the videos nonetheless sir.

in my experience even after 300 hours in game its around 50% my playing time I read or watch video about HOW that mechanic works in the game. Its just how the game works. Looks like it will be different in POE 2. For all other guys - welcome to Diablo where you play 95% and check the duild 5% (played D4 all seasons as well)

I hope it can have two fractures... It will be RNG gated anyway. You will need to sacrifice many fractures to get it right and in turn, this increases the value of fractures. We don't have that reliable odds or source of good fractures everywhere as it was in Necropolis.

Recomb are nerfed more than what you thought. No essence mods stacking, no double fract, probably no multi Alva mods and shits like that also. Recomb are dead

From reading around, I think the nerfed recombinator system works roughly like this: 1. Mods can only be transferred to an item if they can normally roll on that item. This means, for example, that you can't transfer a drop-only / essence / fractured mod to a different base item, or transfer spell suppression to a non-evasion base. 2. The odds of an affix being selected are proportional to the weight of the affix on the target base type. For example, rare affixes like +1 gems or T1 phys damage on weapons will almost never be selected. What I'm not as clear on is what the weighting is for retaining modifiers on some base item (a) that aren't in the normal affix pool when the item base (a) is chosen. For example, how reliably can we merge mods from some other item into, say, a global defense % grasping mail without overwriting the special % defense modifier?

Speculation: you can only transfer affixes to a different base type if the affix you're trying to transfer can naturally roll on the target base type. This means that, for example, trying to transfer fractured / essence / drop-only affixes is DOA.

I really wanted to like this video but as a newer player with only 40ish hours in the game I have no idea what you meant in the Recombinator seciton. The wiki shows moving mods over to items? What's a mod? An affix or suffix? What'a a base? What's a divine? I realize I'm really inexperienced and maybe this video is just too advanced for me

I must admit after two days I'm already over this league. The town is boring AF to manage and completely unrewarding during league start. Melee was a huge bait as a league starter. You're constantly having to improve your gear to keep it up with the content vs ranged and spells where you don't have to be as gear dependent. Overall last league I lasted a week. This one I lasted a weekend

I personally have never enjoyed a league mechanic this much. The gold monsters drop gives an entirely new motivation to map. It's literally to the point for me where I'm like, "I'm gonna map just for the gold to level up my town + reroll for better workers, and if I happen to get other drops, great" I usually skip league mechanics for a bit until I'm comfortably in reds and then learn it eventually if it's rewarding/fun enough. This is the first time I've ever interacted with a league mechanic so enthusiastically. I agree the league mechanic isn't super rewarding at the start, but I am assuming the higher I level the town the more rewarding it will feel, and it feels good to progress toward this goal. Also, melee is clearly not a bait. a whopping 59% of characters are the ascendancies that are likely playing melee (slayer, trickster, warden, glad etc) - This is not entirely accurate as I'm sure some of these are playing those ascendancies but not melee, but still. That's a lot of fucking melee. Just accept you're not enjoying the game right now. It's not the league's fault. It's okay to be burnt out on the game
