That’s a nice pre- explanation of the BE procedure. Unfortunately, when I was an X-ray tech, I did not have the time to do such an extensive talk with the patient. I had to schedule the fluoroscopic exams when the radiologist was available.

Let me just say that I love your videos, Lady! I have yet to see a BE or even see one ordered (RT student here) and after watching this I think I learned more than I did in the "BE" lesson we just had a couple days ago. I love the short and straight to the point videos you do. just PERFECT. Thank you.

@@TejRecordz hiiii! Okay I graduate May 3 and take my boards May 18 🙏 I am not a studier AT ALL I am a professional crammer throughout the 2 years. I cannot give you study tips unless you study like that lol. However I maintained straight As throughout the entire program (so far lol). It's a fun program! There are a lot of required exams to pass but you get plenty of practice before you actually do them. Don't worry, the hardest part is just having to study where to aim the xray and how to position your patients. Every patient is different so just start learning to think out the box early in the program , dont be afraid to ask questions and you'll do FINE. My advice is get ready to adjust to every tech you work with....they all have "their way" but as a student you MUST adapt to their way even if it is "not like school". Then you will start developing your own "rhythm" to taking xrays and the techs will see that and trust you to let you do the exams your own way. This is my advice I wish someone told me before but it wasn't bad at all going through it. You'll have fun! Sorry for the long reply 😅

I had this procedure done not so long ago. It was the most embarrassing experience I think I have ever been through. It’s amazing that in 2023 people are still being subjected to humiliating medical procedures like this.

People are aware of some procedures being uncomfortable for patients but if you need to have this done- it’s for a good reason. Medical professionals see people naked all the time. No one cares.

Believe me, if you ever have to have this done like I did, you'll want a Rad Tech that will explain this to you as the process moves along to keep the embarrassment and fear factor to a tolerable level. I would've had a freaking stroke if the girl that did my test wouldn't have been as good at as she was at it. I found it more uncomfortable than embarrassing because she took steps to respect my privacy. There was the tube insertion, but it didn't hurt and took only a few seconds. Thank God, because this is the most stressful part IMHO. Then you're covered. There's no getting around the discomfort of the air-contrast part of the test though.

I am so glad to hear you had a respectful Technologist and your experience was as good as it could be in an uncomfortable situation.
