My daughter died. Even though I am broken and the memories are agonizing, i would never want to not remember her. On the other hand, I was abused for a long time in my childhood and was broken in another way and I would love to have those memories erased. But it may make it hard to understand why certain smells evoke disgust or why I have an extreme startle reaction, because those things are hard wired into my amygdala now and that doesn’t change. 💕🐝💕

Omg I am literally commenting on the title alone (and turned down the volume so as not to distract me ;) my husband and I tried to watch this movie years ago and totally did NOT understand what was happening and laugh when we see the movie come up..can't wait to hear what this is about!!

I have not finished watching this movie (I fell asleep the first time I tried watching it a couple of years ago). Might see it later. What I believe is that if you can delete the parts of your life that you don't want to remember because they are painful, you will also be erasing the knowledge and growth that came out of the experience. Unless it is a traumatic experience that did more harm than good of course, in which case I believe that might be removed and only be available to be watch by a psychologist/psychiatrist and/or the police (and that is what I mean by traumatic or too damaging).
