I would not have guessed that self sufficiency was a sub-trait of narcissism either. That's so interesting. For me, my self sufficiency is a result of not trusting or relying on other people because it's too hurtful to ask for help and be rejected (me always assuming that people would abandon me or resent me if I asked for anything). Like I see self sufficiency as just a practical survival trait because if I don't do it myself, no one else will. The root of self sufficiency (for me) is not feeling deserving of any care or consideration by others. I would have assumed a narcissist would always be asking or demanding or manipulating people into doing things for them, rather than doing things for themself. Expecting others to serve them.

Maybe this goes without saying, but of course you are deserving of care and consideration, just like any other person. If you ever need assistance, advice, or just want to have company and be heard, that is not a burden to others. While it is important to be self reliant for the most part, it is perfectly okay to need other people sometimes :)

Narcissism is a scale everyone is on, if you’re too low that’s not good and if you’re too high that’s not good. If you’re too low you a doormat, if you’re too high you’re walking all over the doormats.

My score was 3 out of 40 😅 not sure if that's a good thing meaning I'm more humble than not or if it's a bad thing meaning I have little to no confidence lol

I got a 2. The test is hard because some of these questions don't have either answer I would agree with! Like this: A) I like to have authority over other people. B) I don't mind following orders. I don't want to have authority over others but I also don't want them to have authority over me. I just want authority over myself and nobody else. I will follow orders if I can see the logic in them, like speed limits or most laws that have a good purpose for the greater good of all. If someone ordered me to do a thing I strongly disagree with, I don't think I would follow it.

I got 8. I think for me it's more that at 50, I know myself and am content with who I am. I have no drive to lead others . If I'm asked my opinion, I'll give it but won't offer it unsolicited bc I feel that's inconsiderate. I think, overall, that I am very average and am good with that. That said, I am more confident and comfortable in myself than I have ever been in my life and am neither a pushover nor lack self esteem. I simply realize that my experiences, and therefore my biases and opinions, are my own.
