My husband would always save the heels of the bread for me because he figured I loved the heels like he did. Finally, after seeing only the heels left over (this was after our kids grew up and left the house because they would eat the heels) several times in our loaves of bread in the plastic bag, he asked me why I wasn't eating the heels. I said, "I hate the heels, why would I eat the heels of a loaf when I always cut off the edges of a piece of bread for myself?" Then he said, "I love the heels and I always saved them for you because I thought you liked them too - and they always disappeared" "Well the kids must have been eating them because it wasn't me." This was after at least 22 years of marriage.

The reason you are so surprised that the cup noodles are not supposed to be microwaved despite having a fill line is because, outside of the USA, the rest of the world has electric kettles that boil water quickly. We boil the kettle (it takes 1 minute) and then pour the boiling water up to the fill line. This alone cooks the noodles within a few minutes. I'm from the UK and find it bizarre that Americans use microwaves to boil water!

We have electric kettles as well in the US but in my experience I would eat cup of noodles at school or out and about where microwaves were the only option. Otherwise we would make regular ramen. And I’m like 98% sure the directions on the cup tells you to put it in the microwave 😂

Not all Americans 😊 I have a hot water dispenser, so all I do is push a button for instant boiled water (as long as its not empty). I had a stove kettle before then but finally could afford a dispenser! I just wish the appliance wasn't so expensive!

I’ve always been told to not put Styrofoam in the microwave. I never really use the Styrofoam ones because of that. But recently, I just press the 10 ounce button on my Keurig, and that works perfectly up to the line. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

Don’t lose your mind Colleen- but I don’t own a microwave! About ten yrs ago my microwave broke, my 4 kids were all about the age to learn how to cook. I didn’t want them to use a microwave, I wanted them to learn ALL stovetop meals/ foods/ etc. We just never replaced the microwave! We pop popcorn in a pan, heat water in a kettle, and never buy microwaveable foods!! They are now all grown and they all are excellent cooks !!!
