I pretty much never comment, but this one got me. 😅 The week starts on Sunday and the new year is January but Erik is definitely right about the passing lane etiquette.

😂 in BC (Canada) you get a ticket for staying in the left lane on a highway as you’ve become an obstacle to faster drivers. It’s up to the police to stop speeders not you driving slow in the left lane

Colleen!! Being from California and having lived in both the Bay Area and LA, I TOTALLY get where you’re coming from and your way of driving/thought process is exactly how I drove my whole life. I am in the military and recently moved to be stationed in Germany about a year ago so I had to learn a different way of driving when I came out here. Plus Germans tend to ACTUALLY follow the rules unlike many people driving in the states (especially CA). What Erik is saying now makes absolute sense. When you drive on the autobahn out here where there are sometimes no speed limits, you can not stay in the fast lane, you MUST get out of the way if there’s a car coming up behind you that’s going faster than you. I see both sides but Erik wins this one!

My husband does the same thing with letting his foot off the gas and pressing it again. It frustrates me so much. I drive us everywhere because it drives me nuts

I'm in phoenix, AZ and I am driving with the flow of traffic and somebody wants to go faster than what everyone is driving then they can go around, they will just get stuck behind the car infront of me! I usually drive all the way on the left if I'm on the freeway for a while....sorry Erik!

Yes driving etiquette exist. It’s about thoughtfulness and mindfulness, it’s no big deal to go to the left when someone passes you (which is the law), it’s just something everyone does out of curiosity.

I’m from California and I 100% agree with Colleen! If you’re driving on a long journey, you avoid the semi trucks and drive in the fast lane! If people want to drive faster than you, they can go around you. Don’t give into peer pressure if they’re riding your butt! They can pass you if they want and you can continue at your speed 😎

Don’t be on my butt in the fast lane… if it’s a problem, they can move over like Colleen said. I drive like a granny too all the way in the steering wheel. My husband always complains about my mirror placement … ‘how can you see out of these’ … I see fine 💁🏻‍♀️

I use to do what Colleen does. But in Georgia it’s a law now. Even if your going the speed limit which is 75 on the interstate you have to move over if cars are behind you and slowing down traffic.

I drive in the fast lane for a majority of the drive, unless someone come up flying behind me. Then I get over in the slow lane for them to pass, then I move back to the fast lane. If someone doesn’t have the patience to allow me to get over and passes me on the right going well over the flow of traffic speed, then they are in the wrong.

In some states it's illegal to ride in the passing/fast lane and you will get a ticket.
