Love it! I am an atheist but I pray with Teffilin 6 days a week. Yea I know that idea of an observant Jew who is an atheist is odd. I really enjoy praying in Hebrew with teffilin and tallit. It brings me peace. I am in awe that I am doing the same basic thing that Jews were doing 2000 years ago. Sure my prayers my be a bit different since I use a Reform Suddur. But I am still praying in Hebrew like my ancestors did centuries ago. I am so glad that I became observant. I appreciate you showing what you are doing and explaining things. Hello! I want to ask you: is is it acceptable to pray without a book, like by learning everything by heart and just praying without looking in the book? And can you read prayers with your eyes closed, or do they need to be always open?
@יונתןסרי-ט3ו Жыл бұрын
Disclaimer: I am not a rabbi, and I didn't check in any book for my answer. This is my personal opinion, as someone who prays daily. Before there were printed siddurs, there were a few copied siddurs, so most people had to pray without one. Today, there is no shortage, but you can still pray without a siddur if you know the prayer well enough. If you pray without a siddur, it's best to close your eyes, so you can concentrate better.

Judaism came before Islam. Just saying.
@shaidhosain4161 Жыл бұрын
@@heyitsmebee Islam began with prophet Adam pbuh. Being a muslim means submitting your will to God almighty. In fact, prophet Jesus pbuh said in John 16:12 "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. [13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." This is where he was referring to prophet Muhammed pbuh. Prophet Muhammed did not know how to read/write, He only dictated revelations given to him by angel Gabriel, which was sent directly from Gods throne. Furthermore, Islam is the only one of the Abrahamic religions that was kept preserved and unchanged. It's the last and final revelation to mankind. Christianity and judaism have been corrupted by mankind over centuries. One of the preserved lines of Jesus' gospel, they say is in Mark 1:7, where Jesus supposedly prophesied of Muhammad, "There cometh after Me he that is mightier than I."
