I realize this is a relatively old video, but just in case I wanted to ask a question. At around 5:30 it looks like you convert your piece to grey scale, edit your values, and then convert it back. This seems really useful, but I can't for the life of me figure out how you did it!

Hello! I know you very likely have 10 million videos you want to make or that have already been requested, but something that I see you and other active artists on here use is the selection tool. I've heard very brief snippets (haha) of how artists are utilizing it, but the actual demonstration is always in a time lapse and I just cannot piece together what it is everyone does with it. Any chance you might put a brief overview of how it benefits you into one of your videos, or maybe a short one-off at some point? Thank you so much for always being so open with your processes! I so enjoy watching your work.

Two questions: how do you pixel select multiple layers, like you do, to set up that shading layer for your picture? And how did you make that temporary black/white layer to clarify values for yourself?
@Nadiaxel5 жыл бұрын
To select multiple pixel layers, hold CTRL and SHIFT and click on the lsyer thumbnails ^•^ To preview in grayscale you can either cretate a layer-style (from the bottom of the layer panel - the synbol of the black and I white moon thingy) - choose black/white. Then you can turn it on and off. The other option required you to set grayscale as a preview in Photoshop. It is a bit more advanced but I'll made a video on it soon 👍

Quick question, how did you fill the flats without going over your line art or going outside of it? It looked like the pen just didn't make any marks outside of the lines, it's probably just your level of control but still, wanted to ask. And the thing you did at 2:52 ? Sorry if it's a silly question, I'm just curious. I know you said you made separate layers for different things and clipping masks but I don't know how you did it.
