Please take a look at the Legends Comic-Con weekender. A new Comic-Con/weekender concept that will be taking place at Stonham Barns in Suffolk in August this year. More details and tickets available here: / 548269397342067
Please always read the instruction manual that came with your lightsaber in conjunction with watching this video.
Please Always make a back up copy of your SD card before making any changes so that you can go back to the original settings if things go wrong or don’t work out.
I am unable to supply you with copies of the original files.
I have been asked a couple of times now about pre-ons on the Xeno3 lightsaber system. In this video I seek to clarify what the capabilities are (and may be) of the Xeno3 with regard to pre-ons, and to clarify just what are being described as pre-ons in the config file.

I hope you find this helpful.
My Xenopixel sabers mostly come from Padawan Outpost in the UK:

I also buy sabers from Howes Kybers: www.howeskyber...

I get most of my custom sound fonts from 4 different font creators:
Howes Kybers. Sound fonts specifically for Xenopixel electronics:

Kyberphonic. Fonts include a Xenopixel version:

KSith. Fonts include a Xenopixel version:

The materials to make my daylight blades are purchased from JQ sabers:

I actually tried the method mentioned in the comment about combining the preon with ignition sound. The soundfont I purchased is called Legion (you can search it up), and it actually has the combined preon and ignition sound included. The people that made it had the foresight to know we baselit users would want this. It does feel weird to have the preon play while the light is already on, and then the ignition came afterward. What I tried to do is set the ignition speed number really high so that the light isn’t on when the preon sound play, but what I didn’t thought through is that because the light is now so slow, the ignition sound was over already when the light is still slowly lit up. However, I still think there’s a way to bypass this, because the really weird thing about Legion is that it has a separate in and postoff sound…and they both played separately when deactivating the blade. You said that deactivating the blade for Xeno3 will only play the in sound and not the postoff sound, but that wasn’t the case in mine. What do you make of this?

Hi and thanks for asking this interesting question. This video is now 7 months old and Xeno3 board software has been significantly developed since it was filmed and it may well be that pre ons and post offs are now able to be played separately on xeno3 like they are on some of the higher end bards. I can't confirm this as I don't use pre ons and post offs myself and have therefore not come across this myself. It is also worth noting that I don't really work with base lit sabers as all of mine are pixel. Whilst base lit and pixel sabers from Nexus both use Xeno3 boards they do as far as I am aware use different software. I believe that Nexus are harmonising the software for the 2 kinds of blades but currently the software will update to slightly different versions for each meaning the software may be subtly different on the Pixel boards I have to your Base lit board. So in short I can't really answer your question with any degree of certainty. You could try asking on this Facebook group. At least one of Nexus' software developers contributes there and may be able to offer a more accurate response: facebook.com/groups/736905830991266

Question: The config file in the setting folder has all the fonts color/blade settings from 1-47 for me, just the way you have it as you had shown in the video. However, none of those font settings are applied to the actual fonts in their number folders. I have to manually set them myself, where each number folder has fontconfig.ini file that actually carries the blade setting. Is that suppose to happen? Or are the font folders suppose to automatically picked up the font settings in the config file?

Hi and thanks for taking a look at the video. This was filmed 7 months ago and I am afraid the software for Xeno3 boards has moved on since it was made. As of software version 1.2.5 the blade config settings in the Settings folder Config.ini file are no longer used. From 1.2.5 each font folder has it's own fontconfig.ini file and it is this file that stores the blade settings now. Unfortunately a lot of videos on working with the Xeno3 are now out of date because of this and some channels seem to be unaware that this has even happened. I am contemplating the idea of having to re-film all of my how to videos on Xeno3 to reflect this change. In the mean time I have released a video that talks about this change and how the blade settings are now stored: kzbin.info/www/bejne/joq0YquDa6-rg9k

Also you could sort of hack a pre-on onto the saber if you used a audio editing software to combine the preon wav file with the ignition file.
@paulsstuff1969
@paulsstuff1969 Жыл бұрын
This would sort of work however the sound file and lighting effect would begin simultaneously meaning the the lighting effect would begin at the same time as the pre-on part of the file, and not when the ignition part of the file begins. The timing adjustment just allows for adjusting the overall time the lighting effect plays for. It is not possible to add a pause at the beginning unfortunately. So whilst this would sort of work the lighting effect would really be out of sync with the audio. Sadly there is no way to add pre-ons on the Xeno3 at present. We will just have to wait and see what the developers add in the future I'm afraid.

@@paulsstuff1969 yeah I knew it would be far from perfect, just suggesting ideas if someone really wanted a specific pre-on sound to happen.

I tried swapping one of the blade files for a preon effect and then referencing it in the config (if the last ignition effect was G, I referenced H and adding a line after blade7 timing to add a new timing for the new "ignition effect"/pre-on. It didn't work, I can't recall if it picked another ignition effect or not but overall it didn't have the effect of adding a new pre-on.
@paulsstuff1969

There are 2 elements to the ignition styles. An audio file and a lighting effect. The audio file as you correctly identified can be changed using the blade (x) sound files in the setting folder. However I am not currently aware of any way to add a new lighting effect to go with the new sound file, and without both elements the new ignition effect will not work I'm afraid. The only parameter of the lighting effect which is currently accessible is the timing. So at the moment the only way to make a custom ignition effect is to change the existing sound file for one of the 7 current ignition effects. Then whilst you can then adjust the timing of the lighting effect you cannot change the effect itself in any way.

@@paulsstuff1969 mhm, i thought there was a chance it would revert to one of the other lighting effects programmed in, but just have a new sound associated with it (without replacing one of the standard ignition effect/sound pairs), it was worth a try but the saber just ignores it's existence in the config file.
