Well most women are not even wearing hijab properly. It’s usually tight and above the chest. At least I have to say people tried to give a more modest form of swim wear though not fully in the proper understanding. I think brother criticism works best with solutions not just reprimand. Yes, women can go to all women’s pool. But for those where that option may not be available, women need to then work together to continue to improve modest swim wear. I personally don’t care to swim so don’t own a burkini. But some women love it and need a good alternative then to this.

I bought and swam in a Burkini -two different manufacturers -2 different times (attempting to find the ‘best’) and it was embarrassing when I swam. The fabric offered no true modesty after being soaked with water. Similar (kind of) to the wind blowing our clothes to our body shape when wearing abayas/jilbabs. Is there an undergarment of sort that can ‘frame’ our bodies from being exposed by wind? I’m not sure how to phrase this…

I found it: petticoat or crinoline. They (I think) help protect the shape of the [bottom half) of women from being revealed (due to wind).

... salam greetings from Singapore...you know I have massive affection respect and I truly honour you...I am a non hijabi and I do adore and wear bikini but at home when the hot weather becomes unbearable and when none of my tenants are not at home..I cannot swim in a pool because Allah blessede with very extremely sensitive skin and my skin cannot tolerate with highly chlorinated water such as in the pool...and I dearly love dancingabd singing which I know it's haram in Islam...it's seems that I engaged in whatever is haram and not permissible but I only dance and sing in my kitchen...ah...and I also tweezed my eyebrows ...I am Chinese and which Chinese woman never do their eyebrows but not to blame on the race too. .....as much as your esteem goodself takes full responsibility in what you said...I too takes full responsibility on my damn actions and wrong doings ..to each his/her own...I never ever taken aback and blame any Sheikh or Imam that warn and guide their umah on the wrong doings because because because I know and admit my wrong doings my weaknesses and mistakes..but I never give up on Islam and never divide Allah and never ever ever angry or hurt what all you kind Imams and Sheikhs have taught or guide us through...I have so much to improve and go through my damn thick skull.. .....and I like when you said..R E L A X..it's so funny and very laughable and no words you've said were hurtful offensive or wrong... .....at least I speak for myself that I am wrong and need to improve and change...and I am sorry should anyone bombard you...on the contrary, you hijabis should bombard ummah like myself...I love you Abu Bakr Zoud and please forgive me and never give up on ummah like my damn self...I remain...

My sister women are allowed to swim but not in a pool with non-mahram men who are not your brother , father , or your husband . We have to avoid mixed gatherings wheres it’s not necessary as much as possible . The same goes for a men!. If its available to you , find an all women’s gym . I know this can be challenging but don’t let it discourage you or make you doubt your decision about Islam . There are things that Allah has legislated for men and women so we do our best to follow them. I am sure there are other things you let go of after accepting islam so this is similar .but again you’re allowed to swim just not in the same pool with random men (non-mahram ). Let me know if something is unclear we can always discuss it further .

As a Muslim woman I can tell you that Islam is not restrictive, people make it as such. You try your best to be modest. So, go swim, go to the beach, enjoy yourself and take care of yourself. I don’t like these kind of conversations that restrict women.

You are allowed to swim in a pool where there are only women. Simply not in front of men. Similarly if you go to the beach early and there is no men around, feel free to swim. I wear niqab and swim with my jilbab and niqab in the sea. No issue. Note: I'm a revert as well.
