Explaining The Cyber Initiative In Mortal Kombat - The Cyber Ninja Explained | MK11

In this video, we're going to be explaining the Cyber Initiative from Mortal Kombat. With that, we'll be going in depth with the entire event from both timelines, the Cyber Ninja themselves, and any other information relating to the Lin Kuei's transformation into cyborgs.
We have yet to see if any of the Cyber Ninja will be appearing in Mortal Kombat 11, but either way, I wanted to take a better look at this particular event because it's always been present, but what actually took place is another story.
The members we will be discussing in this video include Sub-Zero, Smoke, Cyrax, Sektor, Triborg, and more.

One of the most interesting and mysterious aspects of Mortal Kombat has always been the Lin Kuei. More specifically, why they decided to transform all of their members into cyborgs through The Cyber Initiative. So to take a better look at why the clan did this, who was affected, and how the event played out in each timeline, we're going in depth with the Cyber Initiative! Codenamed Zombie To my knowledge, there's no in universe lore that states the tech is impossible. We also have Jax's metal arms to support the existence of advanced bio-electronics. Given their complexity, it's not too far of a jump to full body cyborgs.

Looking further into the lore in the run-up to MK1, I’m coming to really enjoy the Cyber Initiative, especially Cyrax. They’re a fascinating combination of the distinctive imagery of the MK ninja with the sci-fi edge and pathos of Doctor Who’s Cybermen. Coupled with that Earth-shattering(!) fatality, I think Cyrax might be one of my go-to kameos.

A few thoughts that popped out of my mind : 1)I don't get the Triborg hatewagon. It was quite a clever idea to bring back much-beloved playstyles while still maintaining some consistency within the lore. Yeah, maybe he wasn't as fledged-out as all three (four?) kharacters taken separately, but he was mad fun nonetheless. And having a fully robotic kharacter, maybe the first of many more, would be insanely awesome. Do you even imagine how ludicrous their arsenal would be?! And as a faction, the Tekunin sounds wonderful in my book. Plus, with the messed up timelines introduced in MK11, we could totally have both Triborg and the original cyborgs anyway. 2)Sadly, I doubt we could get only one of them without causing a massive backlash from the kommunity... Do you really think we could bring back Cyrax without having Sektor fans on our back? As sad as it may be, people have a hard time setting them apart. Quite a shame really. 3)While I'm absolutely fond of Sub-Zero (and Steven Blum's voice acting), I can't help but wonder how far the "cyber-sub-zero" idea could have gone if fans weren't so pissed off about it. It certainly would have felt weird having him fight Scorpion that way. But hey... He turned out more than okay!
