Australian view - I find it really weird when I read stories about US sport where a team is accused of being unsportsmanlike because they "run up the score". Scoring is literally the object of the game! If we go to watch our team, and they are winning by a big margin, we are disappointed if they "put the cue in the rack" and cruise to a comfortable victory. We want them to make hay while the sun shines and pile on the score! (But also not carry on celebrating each score as if it is a special achievement when we can see that it's actually all become a bit easy for them.)
@nicolakoh755211 ай бұрын
at that point it's not even a case of bad sportsmanship. they have a legitimate chance of an insane record. (kind of like going for a no-hitter/perfect game in baseball) the best argument would be avoiding injuries, which is fair

As a fan of the Dolphins for 3 decades now I can say disappointment was the furthest feeling from my mind. We have been a dumpster fire since the Marino days, a joke no one took seriously, and it was this game where I got to watch my team be the ones to put the whole NFL on notice. The extra context of Dolphins fans being on the struggle bus, not seeing the super bowl since Marinos second year, rarely making the playoffs and having to watch a team in our division dominate for years, and finally becoming a team where if you sleep on us we can run the score up is something I've never seen, quite literally a lifetime if not more to see a moment like that.

@@pignoob9551 This happened during his time outside of coaching, specifically last year, after week 1 was in the books. It wasn't really a slight towards McDaniel, though; it was criticism against Tua specifically, saying that he expected to see Bridgewater overtake him on the depth chart. It's worth noting for context as well that Bridgewater used to play reserve behind Brees in New Orleans, so Payton is very familiar with him. Quote: "They played well [to start the 2022 season] with Tua, but Teddy Bridgewater, who I’ve had before [in New Orleans], he’s an outstanding player. So few people seem to realize this. Also, no Ramsey for the first half of the season. With Ramsey and Xavien Howard, they have been shutting teams down. If this team is healthy in the playoffs, nobody will beat them. In 2000, watching the Baltimore Ravens legendary defense absolutely mirth the Broncos in the playoffs that year, I prayed to God that just once in my lifetime, I could watch a Broncos defense that was nasty and terrifying like that Ravens defense. A defense so deep and talented it could just run a Base defense that would dog-walk to a win in a Super Bowl game with relative ease. If I could get that, I would never-never complain about any Broncos play again. Taking his sweet-@ss time for 15 years, God finally got as close to answering that prayer as the modern game will allow with the legendary 2015 Broncos defense. There was, simply put, a point in every game where you could just see the other team quit, cry uncle, and tap out. They ended Andrew Luck's career and nearly his life, and they gave Teddy Check Down a nice little nap. They faced Big Ben, Brady and MVP Super Cam in the playoffs and averaged giving up 12.3 points per game (and that was with an offense that couldn't find a First Down with a road map). Seeing a 70 steamer on the Broncos is my penance for all of that, Fellas. This one is on me. But, I can't complain. The Big Guy upstairs really came through for me and gave me my one Broncos wish. I'll take it.

Yeah I’m sorry but the broncos have 3 super bowls in my 3 decades as a Dolphins fan. That win meant wayyyy more to us than the “poor us” feelings of broncos fans. And for 90% of NFL fans (except Broncos fan’s of course), that game was thoroughly enjoyable. It’s stupid your putting your own feelings in everyone’s else’s mouths, so let me do the same 🙏🏼

This video should be about that Vikings/Raiders game today. They should issue a refund for anyone that bought tickets to that game

Disappointing? I don't know, I was kind of satisfied with the results of the game. It was really entertaining, anyway. I guess it depends on who you are.

Should've gone for the record. They haven't been the same since.

Not taking that field goal was the most direspectful thing he possibly could have done. You always go for the throat untill the final whistle sounds, anything less is the same as spitting in your opponents face.

When I check the score after this game a refreshed google a few times cause I didn’t believe it was real and still thought somebody made a typo

my pick for "worst game" (at least of the one's IVE seen) would be last year's Chargers VS Raiders game. It was only one Raiders touchdown from being another 70-point game, but the feeling was completely different. With the Dolphins/Broncos game, it was 50% "DANG the broncos look bad" and 50% "DANG the dolphins look good", but with the Chargers/Raiders game, it felt like whatever team walked into that stadium was gonna drop 60+ points on the Chargers regardless. The Raiders did good, but nobody talked about their win, they talked about the Chargers' loss. It was such a sad showing on all levels.

Long time boncs fan and I honestly did not see much of this game because I had given up watching much around this time... very excellent vid... anyway, a certain pattern I noticed around this time wwas that refs called a lot BS flags on the broncs and not against the opposing team around this time and to be honest this game may have been a protest by the broncs to that kind of shiznit and prob happen regularly before, imho the broncs just gave up thinking they could not catch a break one way or another at that time, then Bowls one of my least fav player because of constant fouls/flags, said he feels like shitznetsy big loose every game ever because they suck so bad... I think this guy is still on the broncs maybe only last guy since this game still playing but it seemed like he inspired the next few wins because of that interview. I hope they will do better this year, it has been ten years sad face emogi.

Sam Wyche kicked the field goal. But it only amounted to 62. Sam was yelling at Mike McDaniel from heaven.

As a Broncos fan, i was rooting for the record. Why not? We've already hit rock bottom, lets see how much further down we can go. That was my mentality by the end of the game

That game was crazy. I was glad they didn’t kick the FG. If he would’ve missed, it would’ve ruined it.

I don't know, as much as I kind of wanted to take the 3 points as a Dolphins fan...I really commend McDaniel for the sportsmanship to take a knee, rather than trot out the field goal unit for something entirely pointless. The goal was achieved; Miami put the NFL on notice with a game that will still stand currently as the most points scored during this modern era of parity. To win by 50 points in today's NFL also isn't something that people just forget, even if the Dolphins can't quite put everything together with a deep playoff run this year. Admittedly, I don't expect Super Bowl or much that's even close to that; the Dolphins have shown tons of promise, but also tons of inconsistency, especially in the biggest games on the road. Even in securing that #1 seed, I haven't seen the Dolphins find their second gear yet, something a lot of the better teams start bringing out, come playoff time. Still, even winning the division and getting into the playoffs for a second straight year will be a major success for a team that is only just figuring out how to sustain success. They are good, still not great, but trending in the right direction. As a fan who only started being interested in football in the mid-2000s, that is all I can ask for at this point with a team that has been the butt of plenty of jokes before now.

The broader context here is that officiating has determined the outcome of a ridiculous amount of games (especially prime time, nationally televised games) this year. And most of those calls have been questionable at best. So now, even with something like this, it feels like a continuation of that. But to be fair to mahomes, nobody would’ve caused an uproar with that NOT being called as it had no impact on the play itself, had we even noticed it at all

This comment is about a dear friend of mine who sadly passed away this year. Dani was one of my closest homies. Straight party animal and always spread kindness. She was also a fellow co worker of mine. Me being a Broncos fan and her being a Dolphins fan we always talked smack on each other. After she watched this game I knew she was going to hit me up and talk the most shit ever. I sat there in defeat when she did 😂😂 Needless to say go Dolphins. Your team did in fact destroy mine.
