I live in Philly. It was my senior year at Central Highschool. Our prinicpal literally said “if we win tomorrow, technically there is school, but you guys dont have to show up.” I watched that game like my homework depended on it (because it did) and when we won, i couldn’t believe it. 18 years old, me and my friends showed up to school at 8am, left to go downtown, and celebrated with MILLIONS of other Philadelphians/South Jersey and practically tore down the city. Jason Kelce later on came to our highschool and played Trumpet along with the Lincoln HS band (New England kids. Our principal bet Lincoln HS we would win, and if we won, their band would come perform for us.) for us at Central. Greatest week of my life. Made me a certified Eagles fan for life.

You are forgetting other crazy things from that season - the Bills ends what a 20(?) playoff draught due to a mircale play from Cinny against the Ravens. Additionally, if that play didn't happen the Jaguars would have played Tennessee in the Wild Card rather than the Bills. The Titans swept the Jaguars that year (including the week prior - the last game of the season), and it was very realistic that the Jaguars would have lost in the Wild Card, because the Jags love losing to the Titans 3-times a years... which means the upset in Pittsburgh never happens and we probably get the Steelers-Pats AFC Championship rematch.

Needless to say when we won the Super Bowl I was on cloud nine! I heard it all once Wentz went down with the torn ACL. I heard "your Super Bowl chances came and Wentz" stuff like that. I heard you'll never beat the falcons then it was you'll never beat the Vikings their defense is too good, and finally it was you'll never beat Brady in the superbowl only one other team has done it. That win shut EVERYONE up even if it was just for a season. My grandfather, who has since passed away, was an Eagles fan practically his whole life. He'd seen it all at that point the highs and lows. I remember vividly what he said to me and my parents Monday morning after the game he told us "my life is complete and I can die a happy man knowing that they finally won the big one" and 2 years later he did pass. As a Dolphins fan I am glad that I don't have to live in fear of the Patriots beating us into last place in our division. Now maybe I can get my hopes up that we can get through the wildcard round as we haven't been past in 22 years. 😭😭😭

That season was my first season watching football and as an eagles fan, I am ruined. I was not prepared for the following seasons of pain when we were so close to victory

Oh yea man it was rough before. You started watching at a good time, im sure we’ll be contenders for years to come but that wasn’t always the case in the late 2000’s to early 2010’s we were trash but had some good players/big names

As a birds fan, 2017 and the Foles Cinderella run was legendary. He saved football in Philly.

I watched that Steelers vs Patriots game with a buddy and that was his first NFL game he ever watched on TV. He is mad about that not being a catch to this day.

This playoff was really the end of an era, last year before the Mahomes era, one of the last great years of Drew Brees, the end of the killer B’s, one of Brady’s last SB’s with the Patriots all culminating in a miraculous run for Nick Foles
