2:30 I have this -shitty headcanon- personal hypothesis about chakra natures, and that is that they're all basically manifestations of Yin Release. When you think about it, ninjutsu is essentially a lesser version of the Creation of All Things technique -- you take spiritual energy (Yin) and combine it with physical energy (Yang) and _create_ chakra, which you then give _shape_ (Yin) and _nature_ (Yang). The Creation of All Things technique is that but up to eleven, as instead it takes Yin _chakra_ and Yang _chakra_ and mix them together to create pretty much anything. With all that said, it's been stated in the series that when you perform ninjutsu, you balance your chakra in the right way in order to create each technique. That would be, among other things, balancing out the spiritual and physical energy in order to give the technique its proper shape and nature. And that takes us to elemental ninjutsu: they're almost* universally more shape than life. Fire Release is essentially really hot chakra. Water Release is essentially giving shape to water. Wind Release is essentially sharp chakra; and so on. They're all more complex than that, but that's just the gist of it. Those primordial elemental techniques like Amaterasu and Sage Art Yin Release: Lightning Dispatch might be literally just Yin Release techniques that are molded to behave in a manner similar to their respective elements, and over the centuries elemental ninjutsu became more sophisticated (albeit less powerful) and specialized, taking advantage of the nature of one's own unique chakra flow ("nature afinity") and either behaving more like the real elements, like Lightning Release or taking advantage of the actual elements in the world, like Earth Release. None of that is very likely, but I have a tendency to come up with unnecessary explanations like that. *The only exception I can think of is Wood Release, and my own pet hypothesis about it is that its secret is that it's a strongly Yang release technique with Nature energy mixed in.

Amaterasu IS probably classified under Yin release. The five basic chakra natures (and all of their combinations) all have psuedo science applied to how they are tangibly formed. fire release for instance is super heated chakra molded into flames. Pretty simple descriptor. But that's not what happens when conjuring Amaterasu. Amaterasu doesn't exist in the material world or as something inherent to a natural existence. Seems evidence Yin Release is required to generate unquenchable black flames

Healing Jutsu being Yin would not really fit all that well, as it deals with the body, vitality and 'breathing life into something', which is exatly what Yang was said to do. On the other hand, I think Sealing Jutsu being all Yin could be very much possible, as what they do is 'to give form to the formless' like binding masses of Chakra that are out of control or, in case of hand seals or talisman seals, giving form to pure Chakra to create a Jutsu.

It’s like placebo, convincing the patient subliminally enough with hypnotic suggestion to communicate with there cells breaking that barrier, creating a stronger mind and body connection to direct all its resources in repairing damages to that specific injured area. That’s my understanding of it. So yin release would be correct, it merely influencing the biochemical reaction psychologically/spiritually/subconsciously from there conscious to the patient to focus on area selected by the caster. But I do get you, there no mechanical reaction to it, it’s all mental and intellectual performed that’s why Sakura has to remain fully concentrated when healing others.

Shisui doesn't have a "teleportation" technique. He is a master of the "body flicker" which is a rapid movement technique. Most ninja can use this skill to some effect. For example: Any time you have seen a ninja appear to jump into the air but almost immediately vanish. Also what Sasuke did to Gaara during the chuunin exam when he vanished was a body flicker as well. *It's moving from a standstill to faster than the eye can see in a fraction of a second. That is what the technique is in a nutshell.* Sasuke in particular likes to speed blitz people with it (He used it against Naruto at Orochimaru's hideout as well as when he "cut" Tobi in half when he fought Tobi and Deidara. He also used a Body Flicker to get behind Zaku in the forest of death before he broke his arms.)

I think it's similar to travelling in 'hyperspace' in scifi, because Tobirama was able to throw a kunai (with his mark) past Madara's brother, and attack him during the teleportation to his marked kunai...

My personal headcanon is that Amaterasu/Blaze Release is an advanced chakra nature composed of Fire and Yin Releases and only accessible through certain Mangekyo Sharingan. I think this makes intuitive sense because Amaterasu/Blaze Release's flames appear clearly unnatural (black color) and have properties that seem reminiscent of the reality-warping powers of Yin Release (burning as hot as the sun, burning everything, and being inextinguishable unless the caster wills it to be extinguished), and this would of course align with the Uchiha and Sharingan affinity for Yin. I also have a headcanon that Wood Release contains Yang Release in addition to Water and Earth, and Hashirama was just too much of a goober to realize he was adding Yang Release to the mix. That last bit is kind of a stretch, I know, but the whole idea, again, has some intuitive qualities to it: trees and plants are, of course, living things, something that sits squarely in the domain of the physical-energy, life-associated Yang Release, and would also align with the Senju clan's affinity for Yang Release. Taken together with my headcanon about Blaze Release's flames, it also adds another aspect to the sort-of mirroring/duality theme between the Senju and Uchiha: those with the flesh (body) of certain Senju can use advanced chakra natures composed of some set of elemental natures + Yang, and those with the eyes (mind) of certain Uchiha can use advanced chakra natures composed of some set of elemental natures + Yin. Wood Release containing Yang also has one other benefit, and that is that it differentiates the set of component natures of Wood Release from that of Mud Release. Otherwise, they both use the same two natures: Water and Earth.

Amaterasu seems like a kekkei genkai release between yin and Fire being directed threw the visual prowess of the Sharingan. Which in turn would mean that you would need both the fire and yin release to accomplish the technique as well as the Sharingan and snice susanoo is made of stabilized chakra and Amaterasu I would assume yin release is needed as well. But this is speculation my hypothesis is based on The Limited ability to cast these ninjutsu in earlier seasons due to inexperience with the Nature's themself. Love your videos you rock.

Have you considered that Amaterasu is a Yin/Fire element combination. Yin is all about bringing imagination to life and Amaterasu behaves like someone would wish fire to behave so they could use it as a weapon. Plus given that the Uchiha had talent for Fire Release and Yin Release it seems kind of fitting that one of their greatest powers was a combination.

So, I think any time you have a "creative" form of nature transformation it involves the "yin" element. Ameterasu, for example, is a creative fire release as it had various qualities that regular fire release doesn't. It's quite possible that in the aspect of medical ninjutsu, the yin release is the stem of all of it because it encompasses the idea of 'life'. Correction. Amaterasu is still considered a "Fire Release" jutsu. In fact, it is the highest form of Fire Release. Blaze release or "Enton" is a bit different. Enton grants the user to control the black flames of Amaterasu and manipulate its shape or whatever (as seen with Sasuke). However, Amaterasu is not directly categorized under Blaze Release. That would explain why Itachi doesn't have Blaze Release but he can still use Amaterasu.

I mean if you read the name its pretty simple. Any "style" is exactly what it sounds like, its own style. Gale Style is its own element made from a combination of elements, Wood Style is a combination of water and earth for example. Yin and Yang release have pretty much no connection to any elemental ninjutu most of the time.
