## The process through which the dissolved gases are removed from water is called the “Deaeration Process”. The equipment, which is used in this method, is called “Deaerator“. # Why do we use deaerators?… The Deaerator (DA) tank uses steam to preheat boiler feedwater to a temp. at which dissolved O2 & CO2 will become separated from the feedwater before it is pumped to the boiler. The purpose is to protect the boiler and steam/condensate piping from corrosion that would be present when the water evaporates into steam. An additional benefit is that the number of chemicals used to treat the boiler water can be reduced. #water #watertreatment #saftey #boilers #explotion #hazard #plant #construction #construction techproces.com/deaeration-process/

I work with a couple big industrial gas boilers. We run many water tests daily. We just started one of the boilers a couple days ago and our SO3 test is reading really high. Our SO3 range is supposed to be between 20-80ppm but I personally just tested it and got a 130 on the test which is way outta range. We're usually testing out at around mid 20's to 60's. We've messed with the pump and everything we can think of and still no luck. Any help?

Wouldn't distilled water be free of impurities?
@HarleyQuinn-up6xg8 жыл бұрын
I was also thinking of same thing
@neurofiedyamato87638 жыл бұрын
I think so though the process is expensive.
@412stock4128 жыл бұрын
Neurofied Yamato I work at a place with evaporator coils. it is not as expensive as you think. We get our feed water down below 100ppm but the boilers contribute to rising total dissolved solids.
@johnperdue75417 жыл бұрын
Distilled water being free of impurities is very aggressive to metals. Expediting the breakdown of the boiler. The boiler itself creates steam/distilled water vapor. As the distilled water vapor cools and condenses it flows back to the boiler via a heavy wall condensate piping. It becomes diluted when it mixes with treated boiler feed water and starts the distillation process all over again.
@crmaloney246 жыл бұрын
Mike Radway I would say that the process may not be expensive, but the equipment is. Longterm, the equipment will pay for itself, but chemical treatment may achieve the same for less price
