Lecture notes 🖊️ Comes in Qur'an separately and they come together. When they are separate they have additional meaning.when they are together it has a meaning It only came together 3 times in Qur'an. Ayat ul kursi starts from Allah and then Al hayy Al Qayyum... Most precious ayah ... But why it's so special? Because it's All about Allah azawajal. From start to last it's the definition of Allah azawajal that who actually is Allah . Then surah Al imran and surah taha. These names have meaning Al Hayy ( the Ever living): comes from Life. Life of Allah swt is perfect life. Perfect in every single way. Allah swt life is preceded by nothing but perfect life. He was from the start to the last with no end. Allah swt life is being perfection in every sense. Allah azawajal has perfect life so everything in his life swt is perfection. All his attributes are perfection and nothing else. He is perfect, because he is everr living, because nothing in Allah swt life is less than perfection. Allah swt said rely on the ever living who never dies swt. Why we pray to Allah swt why we worship him?? Because he is Al hayy because he is deserving of worshipp because of his perfection in All of his attributes. The one who's dies is not perfect, because he was alive now dead. Allah swt never dies. If somone worship or ask from others... They are praying to somone who is ganna die or already dead, so worship him swt who never dies, who never slumber or sleep. Why you should use them im your dua: Scholars believe it's biggest name of Allah swt Allah, Al hayy, Al Qayyum .. one of these names are considered the biggest names of Allah swt Al Qayyum: (self sufficient, the sustainer )constantly sustaining his creation. The one who is completely self sufficient. He doesn't need anyone else as he is Al ghani, he is rich. Allah swt says o mankind you are in desperate need of Allah and Allah doesn't need any one , we are dependent upon him, he is independent of anyone amd everyone. He doesn't need our worshipping he is Al Qayyum for he is perfect snd complete, no one is independent of Allah swt and Allah azawajal is independent of all. And people still make partners with Allah swt who their selves need of Allah swt. Allah swt said he is the one who holds the heavens and the earth from falling and if they eere to fall down who is it after Allah swt to stop earth and heavens from falling dowm. Heavens and earth exist because of his command and this is all is from Al Qayyum . The one who sustains everything else. Everything in this world or the world hereafter exist and by the sustainance of Allah azawajal . All the action's one can think of as a slave comes under the umbrella of Al Qayyum. If Allah swt guide somone he cannot be misguided by anyone else and when he misguided somone, he cannot be guided by anyone. Allah , Al Hayy Al Qayyum covers a vast area , covers alots of Allah's none ending attributes. When Alla swt gives perfect life to the residents of jannha there'll be no depression, tension, anxiety, problems etc. And this comes to Al hayy. And your bad actions leads you to tension etc which leads to Al Qayyum, so when he swt bestows his Mercy its from his Qayyumiyat. The essence of ebadah is lowering yourself humbling yourself and showing absolute submission and humility before Allah swt. Putting your self down in submission, in humility in humbless for we're nothing but dust and to dust we'd return. May Allah The Al hayy Al Qayyum guide and forgive us ameen. JazakAllah khair

1. Allah’s life is perfect. No drowsiness. The creation of the heavens and earth was easy. No flaws. Everliving! 2. وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْحَىِّ ٱلَّذِى لَا يَمُوتُ -> Trust Allah. His life is Perfect. Other people die. 3. Al Qayyum: Completely self sufficient & Sustains everything. 4. Allah loves that you beg him because he is completely self-sufficient and independent of anyone. Allah wants you to show that you are desperate need of him. If he left you for a blink of an eye, you would be dead. 5. 6. I do ibaadah for my benefit. It doesn’t benefit Allah. 7. When both combined, it encompasses all the names of Allah.

My Notes: - Allah has no beginning or end, with perfect and limitless life, unlike all other creatures. - Humans get better stronger, intelligent etc but life of Allah never dipped or became better, it was always perfect and will be forever. - Humans through life suffer illness, bodily or mentally weakness (highs & lows), etc. The life of Allah has no deficiencies. - He does whatever He wills and when He wills because of His perfect life. - This name gathers together every single one of the attributes of Allah that relates to Himself. - The knowledge of Allah is found within the meaning of Al Ha’ai because He has such a complete life and never experiences any deficiency, slumber or sleep by understanding from that He has perfect knowledge. - The one who has perfect life is not blind or dumb - Every creations from smallest to largest need Him all the time yet He never stumbles, breaks or sleeps. - “Whosoever is in the heavens and on earth begs of Him (its needs from Him). Every day He has a matter to bring forth (such as giving honour to some, disgrace to some, life to some, death to some, etc.)” [Rahman] - Why do we make dua to Him and worship Him because He is Al Ha’ai and nothing else has those attributes of perfection except Him (who is deserving of worship). - Anything else other than Allah being worshiped is living then will die, they are dead after living or inanimate objects that didn't have life in first place. All of these don't deserve a fraction of worship. - “And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die…” [Al-Furqan] - The reason why there is absolutely no God worthy of worship except Allah because He is Al Ha’ai, Al Qayyoum - “Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining.” [Ayatul Kursi] - This should make us realize that every single act of worship we do has to be for Allah and never put trust in anything other Allah (paper, statue, something put around neck or friends of Allah) - Making dua to Allah with Al Ha’ai is so effective removing personal problems then think of people of Jannah who Allah gives perfect life. - When people of Jannah given perfect life which is still dependant on Allah. They will not be affected by sadness, worried, pre-copied and not affected by any problem in their life. - Its like your telling Allah that you are Al Ha’ai who can relive us from all problems because you have the perfect life. - “O Ever-Living One, O Sustainer of existence, by Your mercy I seek help. (Ya Hayyu ya Qayyoom, bi rahmatika astaghith)" - So when you make this dua you are saying the reason im having problems is that my life is deficient because of what i have done or what is done to me and because you are the one with perfect life and with perfect sustenance and provision then only you can remove my problems - He is completely independent of need of anything and anyone else. - He is Constantly sustaining the creation - If every creation disbelieved it will not decrease from his dominion and if anyone believed it will not add to His dominion - Allah loves you to recognise your need of Him and loves you to beg Him. Nobody loves a person who begs except Allah. - Allah loves for you to demonstrate that you are in desperate need of Him. - He doesn't need you or your worship. Your worship is only for your own benefit. - Allah says that if we disobey Him, He will replace us with an entire new creation. How many times Allah destroyed people before us who disobeyed Him - We realize how insignificant we are in the sight of Allah - The Throne of Allah, heavens and earth, Paradise, Hell, Humans, Jinn and all creatures exist by His command and sustenance. - If Allah leaves His creation for a brink of an eye, it would cease to exist - “Indeed, Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him. Indeed, He is Forbearing and Forgiving." [Fatir] - What ever Allah bestows of mercy, health wealth… then its from Him being Al Qayyoum - All of the attributes that are about Allah Himself can be summarized in the name Al Ha’ai - e.g. Al-Sami, Al-Baseer… - All of the actions of Allah (attributes of action) can be summarised in the name Al Qayyoum. - Like bestowing mercy (Ar-Raheem), provision, control of the universe, creation (Al-Khaliq)… - When these two names are put together then it gathers every names of Allah within them which is why they are called the greatest names of Allah as they have more emphasize and complexity within them. - e.g. Ar-Raheem refers to that particular element of bestowing mercy - The essence of worship is lowering (humbling) your self and showing absolute submission and attentiveness before Allah. - “And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice.” [Ta-Ha] - Ibn Al Qayyim held these two the greatest name of Allah. - Prophet made dua a lot with these two names so you should always make dua with these two names and Allah. They have strongest possibility of being greatest names of Allah.
