As I'm sure you'll find out eventually, the reason why "water is baba" didn't work wasn't because of the "baba is you" blocks. It was because "water is water" which breaks logic as water can't be both itself and baba. It's to keep you from transforming things and is used much more in later levels.

The spacebar is, as written on screen, the wait function. It makes the game step once, so for you thats mostly the _X is move_ function. So you running into the wall for the bolt to move in that one level was tecnically not necessary, could have been done with the spacebar aswell.

There was this level with the note that space is wait and you tried to press space and nothing happened. Space means that like, you move but you stay where you are. You noticed that when you have the Move keyword, Moving things move whenever you move. And by pressing space bar, you can trigger things to Move as if you had taken a step, without actually going anywhere. It's like walking up against a wall, but it works when there are no walls around.

The reason 'Water Is Baba' didn't work near the end is because 'Water Is Water' If something is itself, it cannot be re-defined as something else, because that invalidates a pre-existing clause.
